• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help - Need trailer harness routing instructions

Does anyone have the "official" BRP instructions for the installation of the trailer harness on the Spyder RT? I have an appointment with my dealer on Wednesday, May 22nd , to fix the wiring harness that they routed inside the rear fender. The tire rubbed through the cable and shorted out the wiring. If the harness was installed improperly then I need to know the correct procedure (proof) for the install when "discussing" who should be paying for this fix.

I would greatly appreciate receiving the oem instructions today if anyone has them available.

Thanks

Mike

Mike, I have the RT hitch install instructions from BRP I am scanning them. PM me with your email and I will send them

Thanks everyone for getting me some much needed info. Spyderbirds scan of the full documentation came in about 11 p.m. last night and I will take this with me to the dealer today in an effort to "negotiate" the fix for my shorted trailer module.

We will just have to wait and see if they take the high road on this issue. In their defense, my trailer was the first one sold out of their shop two years ago, and routing the cable the way they did probably seemed appropriate to the installer at the time. It has to get fixed so I can use the trailer, so I will attempt to allow them sufficient time to make things right.

Once again thanks for all your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Northstar, do you have a pic of how your wiring harness got damaged?

I installed a trailer harness on my RT a few months ago and have the harness hanging between the inner left saddle bag and the wheel - per the instructions. After reading this post and checking how close it is to the wheel, I found this:

Then I pushed the harness towards the outside of the saddle bag and it fits nice and snug under the saddle bag now:
