• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help identifying small engine ignition part

Was wondering if anyone might be able to help identify this part? It is part of the keyed ignition module that goes on my Kohler CH440 snowblower engine. Any suggestions appreciated.

If there are any numbers on it, Google the number. My guess: its a start capacitor - charges as you pull the rope, discharges to fire the plug. Just a guess similar to what we used to call "battery eliminators" on old Harleys and Triumph motorcycles.

It’s a kohler engine model CH440 that goes to the Bercomac snowblower and this part is from the engine manufacturer. It has no other identifying markings on it. From the kohler web I can find the entire ignition assembly but was hoping to just replace this piece.

Contacted Kohler support snd after a couple emails back and forth determined it to be the attached
