There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Help ID my GPS

Hi folks. I need some help. I'm getting mixed answers on which GPS unit this bracket is for. It has model number 011-03386-00. Garmin has no reference to it and all I can find on Google are a bunch of eBay ads that show it fitting Zumo 660, 665 and one showing 590.

This bracket is fitted to a 2015 RT Limited, Australian delivered Spyder that didn't come with the GPS in the sale.

So - which GPS do I buy, or do I just remove this mount and get the 595 new?

I've been led to believe that not having a GPS included is an ugly secret. Don't tell anyone but apparently the Australian version of Garmin GPS units cost more because they have to function "upside down." Garmin units are included with Spyders sold in the Northern hemisphere because they work "right side up" and don't require the special, and supposedly costly, Down Under inverted display magic! By the way, this does not hold true for New Zealand-bound Spyders because they don't know which way is up (or down). Sorry, but I couldn't resist. The devil made me do it! ;)

Sorry, my mount PN is blocked by my Kradellock so I can't read it but the important thing to do is compare the picture(s) of the pin arrangements on your mount with those from pictures in the manuals for the 660, 665 and 590. I do know the pin arrangements are different for the 660 and 590. This is what the 590 mount pin configuration is.

Billy, which is which? Which is 'That' and which is 'This'? Is the first one, for the 59X series, the one that the OP has?

They seem to differ in width only. Pins are the same?

The reason I'm asking is that a few years back someone was advertising this very model of cradle and wiring for sale as for a zumo 660 and I bought it. Obviously it does not fit my zumo 660 so I'm now going to sell it, but I don't want to mislead any potential buyer as to which GPS it fits.

Thanks

:oldpost:

But for what it's worth, while they are very similar, look carefully at the raised 'clip' on the bottom of each mount - the 59x Series mount (which is shown in the top pic & is possibly the one the OP has/had??) have a slightly taller but narrower 'clip', while the 66x Series mounts (shown in the bottom & larger pic) have a lower but wider 'clip'. Either way, the different GPS Units don't really fit the other series mounts, so if you swap from one series GPS to the other, while the lower section of the mount didn't actually change any, the top plate & pin-out DID (& the pin-out was apparently modified even more for BRP provided GPS models :p ) so you've gotta get the correct top plate for your GPS Mount. :banghead:

Yes, I realize it's an old post. I did a Google search on the cradle number and this was one of the search results!

Thanks for the info. You sure do know some obscure stuff!

I started out aiming to be a 'Specialist Generalist', and always tried to learn 'something', even if just 'a little', about 'everything' I encountered.... but as I get older, I'm beginning to realise that I'm learning more & more about less & less on a daily basis!
