• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP...can't remove battery on RT.

Howdy. I am trying to remove the dead battery from my 2010 RT. I have followed the tech manual, disconnected panels, cables, holding strap, etc. NOW, the manual says, "move battery to the rear and lift from the bottom edge." From what I see, I don't have clearance to get past the steel bracket which the holding strap was attached to.

Am I missing a step or two or three?

Just keeping a sense of humor for this dirty job.

If someone can help, I am available at 512-262-8252.

Help...battery on RT

Howdy...just spoke with Lamonster. He has recommended bending the bracket holding the strap. Thanks for the help. Now, it's off to the garage.

It will come out, trust me. It just takes some fiddling and trying different moves with the battery but it will come. The weight doesn't make it easy. I can't remember the exact "secret" move that got it out but you will get it. As it's a fully absorbed glass mat battery, you can feel free to tilt and turn it any which way and not worry about any leakage.

Help...RT battery

YAY!!! With Lamonster's help, I bent the bracket for the holding strap. Got the old battery OUT. Wiggled the new one IN. AND, the Spyder is running as I type.

Going Ryding tomorrow.

THANKS, LAMONSTER.

Some batteries will swell some when they go bad. That makes it really difficult to get them out. The Spyder is definitely a tight fit.

:congrats: on breathing new life "into the beast"! :2thumbs:
