• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Help Brandnew 2013 RTS... it gets TOOOOO hot after 10 minutes riding

Depends on which heat issue you are talking about. If it is the lower right hole (torch hole), then all of the RT's have had this issue since day one. The reason why THAT particular issue became much more noticeable in 2013 is that floorboards from BRP became standard (at least for the RT-S and RT Limited semi autos) and the rider's foot is directly behind this hole. Before, the rider had his foot on a footpeg which was much higher and back from this hole.

Now as to the heat inside the tupperware there have been some, but certainly no where near all, that have experienced a greater amount of heat underneath the tupperware than previous years. I'm talking 2013 versus 2010 - 2012 RT-S. This was certainly a valid issue in that BRP instituted a corrective measure by having certain "mods" made to the 13's to address this issue.

Additionally, BRP did a remapping of the ECM and I have noticed a decrease in the tupperware heat issue. I live in Flarda and have ridden my 2013 RT-S extensively WITH SHORTS in mid 90 degree weather and the temperature gauge on my spyder ranging from 102 to 107 degrees. During those times I have noticed a decrease (slight it may be, but it is still a decrease) in the heat coming out of the gas door or my Corbin seat and the surrounding edges of my seat to the glove box.

Hope this helps.

Chris

Love my 2013! I have ridden it on 100+ weather and I feel the same heat I have had in previous years and other bikes. I use Amsoil for my oil, have wrapped the manifold, gotten rid of the cat and OEM exhaust but for performance improvement, and notice an improvement in the heat, but it is still there. Proper gear is the answer.

 The O.P. hasn't signed back in...
So unless she's just checking in anonymously... :dontknow:

There may be more to this post, than we've been lead to believe.
But I DO hope that I'm wrong!

signed up April 2012.

Best guess. Not a troll.

I kind of agree with you...

But in ALL of that time; she never thought to read any of the threads about this issue?

I hope that she can fill in some of the blanks; my curiosity is aroused... :D

spyder heat problem solution

I just got a brandnew 2013 RTS delivered from Texas to Georgia. It stalled on me 3 times the first 10 miles. I have it a week and 67 miles on and it stalls very often when I stop at at light or when in neutral.
Also my problem is the whole Bike where you sit, the leather, the little compartment by your thighs and knees gets very I mean very hot after only 5-10 minute riding, so hot to the touch you can actually burn yourself, is that normal?
And my tank is below 1/2 with only 67 miles.... normal?
I am brandnew to a Spyder, any info is greatly appreciated.
