• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmets

Arai

Try a Shoei Must comfortable helmet I ever bought. Well worth the price.

My Arai Defiant is a really comfortable helmet, even in 100 degree heat, lots of ventilation. Even more expensive than the Shoei, but they make the safest helmets on the planet, many pros wear tem for that reason, and Arai pays none of them to wear their helmet. Great vision, adjustable cheek pads, and a completely removable and washable liner. Easy to change out face shields in a second to go from smoke to clear and back again.

Do they have a crumple zone in addition to s hard shell and styrofoam?

i agree. However, I got a couple of PMs from people who said they don't understand how statistics relates to them on a personal level. For those people, I hope this puts a human face on the statistics. :lecturef_smilie:

I was at Vegas Bikeweek this last weekend. A vendor was selling those novelty helmets that are not DOT approved. I looked at one, and it had no styrofoam in it at all!

About three hours later, I got bored listening to the rock an roll bands, so I went for a walk. There was a guy with a bagger. He was't riding the bagger; he was WITH the bagger because the bike was on the ground, and he was under it. Based on the quantity and volume of cussing, I deduced he wasn't badly injured. I went over to help him up. Guess what? He was wearing one of those novelty helmets, and his was brand new! He had a couple of big cuts over his ear where the helmet cracked.

I don't know what became of him, but I saw him throw the helmet in the trash.

So, to answer the question..."No. We shouldn't just 'move on'."
