• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet

Good points as the inside foam breaks down and loses its resiliency after a period of time. 5-7 years is a fair amount of time. Of course, if you replace the entire padding/protection system of the helmet, you can probably keep doing this every few years as the outside shell is probably rated for a long amount of time...
You can't replace the entire protection system of the helmet, only the soft inner liner. These are important, especially for proper fit and for comfort, but it is the cellular foam next to the hard shell that does a lot of the work.

All good advice above.

Caution when painting with incompatible chemicals very important. You would not want the helmet to self destruct when it gets a hard impact.

Lifetime of helmets also very important. I usually get tired of the main helmets I am wearing--so change them every couple of years. I bought one new helmet this year. Have a total of five on the shelf now.
