There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Helmet w/half visor

frank3

RT-S PE#0180
Looking at the BRP helmet, I noticed that the visor was a half design. I have looked everywhere and can't find one like it. Hate to pay the BRP price for something that I'm sure another mfg. made for them. I have a Nolan 42-N and have contacted Nolan to see if they offer a half visor for it and they don't. Interestingly, they do have a "law enforcement" model with half visor but it's not available to public. I do NOT want a full face helmet and prefer an open face model but really want the half visor. Can anyone help?

This helmet I picked up after trying it on at an online distributor that I went to there warehouse distribution center in
Signal Hill, CA. they matched the price of another online place, if I paid cash, which I did $220 out the door and on
my head :ohyea:

this has every possible configuration as the Can-Am plus bluetooth capability

on this next photo I just placed on this other visor that would go on in place of the full clear bubble shield with a detachable full face

vs the Can am Hybrid- which I am still gonna get to use their
wired set up when it eventually comes out

oh and one more thing the Nolan was extremely comfortable:thumbup:

TicketBait, That's a great looking helmet. I have a Nolan 42-N that I also love BUT neither the 43 or 42 has a half visor. The photo you provived, gives a great view of the BRP helmet WITH a half visor. Any suggestions?

I didn't :read: your post carefully enough, and I spent all morning taking photos of my helmet ...
:trike::roflblack:

....maybe look into getting another full visor from nolan and paying to have it modified, I have been wearing the helmet
when I ride in every type of configuration with the windshield up, down, music blasting full face on shield down to try to
experience it all, the can - am also will have the vented full face which will be a plus on a warm day.

I am gonna still get the can am, just wanna try it on first to make sure it is comfortable and which size to get. Won't be
till march or later however they have the jaw s available now. go figure.

If I remember right, Scorpion makes the BRP helmets, check their website.
I have an N-42, tried the N-43 Trilogy -- chin bar too close, almost touching my chin, and no, my chin isn't like Leno's.

I bought my husband a scorpion half helmet with the visor that lets down from inside with the push of a button, I believe it is the 100 series.... he loves it. Hope this helps. I ordered it online from amazon for about 100.00

HJC makes one, that I think may work for you. Dealer included it when I bought my spyder last October. I haven't used it yet, since it was colder out so I rode in my full face. Can't wait for spring & a chance to use it.

I think they may have a few other styles as well.

Try them, great service and good prices.
Go to "browse by style", look for "open face helmets"
you will find several with 1/2, 3/4, and full shield.
good luck,

yes this is the place I got mine from, extremesupply ask for Jed, he is so patient I think I tried on 7-8 helmets when I was there, and then they matched the price of this place

http://www.cyclecentralpowersports.com/ and if you wanna get more specific type in their search button the type of helmet like HJC open-face helmet I got stuff from Ben at cycle central. He was very helpful on the Can-Am stuff

helmet vents

With this or any helmet, what do you do if you get caught in a rain down pour and the helmet is configured with open top vents?

You can close the vents, if you wish. Never seems to get that wet in the rain. I have only had to close my helmet vents a few times on a bike with a windshield, and then usually only the ones above the forehead. If you don't have vents you will get wet for certain...from sweat.

Givi helmet is the same one as Can-Am ST-1 Hybrid. Looking at cost of Give and converting cost to US dollars, cost about $330.00 with all accessories (both chin bars). Can-Am is priced at $299.00. A no brainer for me as I do not want a chin bar anyway. Now need to find a dealer where I can try one on. NEVER BUY A HELMET WITHOUT TRYING IT ON. My dealer dosn't carry them but will order one. the search is on. thanks to everyone for the help.
