• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Suggestion....

A helmet that is too big will also be a noisier helmet. A correctly fitted helmet, while tight, is a very comfortable (and quieter) experience.

Make that a too small helmet as well. I got the BRP GSX-2 (Scorpion EXO, says so on the inside of the chin bar:ohyea:) and I got a small at first. Noisy, windy, fogged up like mad....absolutely hated it. It started falling apart after two months so I sent it back for warranty and upsized to a medium at the same time. I was leery when I got the new one, but thought I would try it. Awesome helmet. At 28F I could go without a balaclava, little to no fogging, no more cold wind blowing up behind the chin bar and into my eyes making me tear up. And no it isn't too big, still fits snug, doesn't "rattle around" on my head in cross winds.

I have also heard that this helmet is on the smaller side and you should get one size up from what you normally wear. Do you have the air pump system in it? I have been seriously thinking about getting one of these as well.

I currently ride with a Scorpion EXO helmet, and although it seems to be a very high quality built helmet, it's very loud when the visor is closed. This is a full face helmet. I was looking at the visor, and there seems to be quite a gap between the visor and the rubber seal. About 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch! I was riding tonight for a bit, and If I put my hand over the top of the visor, it got quieter.

I am curious what other brands/models of full face helmets other riders are using. This is just too noisy a helmet.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Mike

I have the BRP badged Scorpion EXO. I adjusted the hinges to their furthest aft position. On the right side of the helmet both screw holes are slotted. On the left side of the helmet, just the bottom is due to the top being the pivot hinge for the sun shade. Another thing I found you need to do is run a bead of sealant or super glue around the forehead vent. Other wise it leaks like a sieve in the rain as well as contributes to the wind noise.

Right after a get a haircut my helmet gets awful loose, Once the hair grows back perfect fit, Any body else have that problem.:dontknow:

Yep it has the air pump in it. I never use it. It fits snug enough on its own.

Truthfully I wouldn't recommend it. It works awesome in the winter, but there are still things I don't like about it. One it is a heavy helmet, two the ventilation sucks for anything over about 90F. And if your head is a long oval when looking down from on top, you will get pressure points on the forehead and back of the skull. Going up one size seems to have eliminated that issue for me, but I haven't ridden in really warm temps yet which is when it showed up last summer.

Thanks for the additional info! Based on these facts I am scratching this helmet off my list. It has already reached 90 here and we haven't gotten anywhere near summer time yet.
