• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Storage (when not in use)

I just saw a posting on a facebook page, Can Am Spyder Accessories & Parts for sale, for a helmet wall mount. I was wondering how do you store your helmet when not in use. I bag mine and they sit on a cabinet, as of now, but I do like this idea.

It depends. Right now in winter storage it is in Frunk and Spyder is covered. During riding season it is usually either on the seat or the chin bar hangs from an "L" hanger on the wall of the garage.

Well....

I made the exact same wall mount for the helmets. I use them regularly so they sit uncovered. If stored I would put the helmet bag over it opening at the bottom and back on the wall mount...

In the house

On a shelf, in the closet, in the house. I read somewhere that it was not good to hang a helmet from the strap but I can't see how it would hurt.

It seems to me...

i look better with mine on then i do with it off, so mi always have it on
that
always having your helmet on would interfere with some rather important life events... how do you manage? And our helmets are on a shelf in the garage away from the dust and dirt...

I have very weak knees and hips. As a result I I'm continually falling down so I wear my helmet all day long also. My spyder is actually just a motorized wheelchair. I tried taking it into Costco last week but I couldn't convince them to allow me in. I think I'll report them to the ADA.

i am a broken down old man, so no important moments in my life, but if i fall, i am covered

Our newer helmets sit on a shelf

in our utility room. If they are going to sit for an extended period I will stick a fabric softener sheet :shemademe_smilie: in them. I usually clean the liners in the fall and the dryer sheets keep them nice until riding season kicks in. My "grab and go" helmet that I use for short runs sits on one of the bikes in the garage.

The daily use ones are hanging off the handlebars or on the back seat of the :ani29:. The sometimes use ones are sitting on the work bench. The never use are in their stuff sacks and on the shelves in the garage.
