• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Question...

I have two HJC helmet's. Both are full face and one of which is a modular type. For safety reasons, I would not wear a half helment. At least not on the highway and at this point in my life I have not been so brave enough to ride in town with one either.

Three Quarter

Thanks to all, keep 'em coming!

My wife & i found that the HJC three quarter (Is-33) with flip- up face shield &
integrated sunshield to work & fit well, so far. Fitted With the Sena SMH5-FM
bluetooth headset & intercom with built in fm tuner. We find no need for our,
full face,or half helmets anymore. Great look & feel for the Spyder Ryder.
Good luck.:doorag:

Suomy, Scorpion, AGV, HJC, Shoei... all full faced. Recently I used my Fly Racing ADV helmet (kind of looks like a dirt helmet)... shoulda seen the double takes.

The wife and I both wear Nolans, as we found those fit our heads the best. The best advice I can offer is to go to a dealership or location with -many- different styles, so you can try them on and pick the one best suited for your head shape. Remember, you'll be wearing it for thousands of miles, so get one that is COMFORTABLE!.

My wife and I both have Nolan n43e trilogy's. What we really like is the removable chin piece that converts the helmet from full face to open face. Also, there is a built-in retractable tinted visor that allows you to forego sunglasses. The helmets also come with pinlock shields that most companies charge extra for. Finally, I bought a pair of Sena SMH5 bluetooth headsets and attached them with two sided tape to the communication cover on the side of the helmet. This allows me to remove the communication cover (snaps on) for charging the device. I got the helmets from Revzilla for $266.00 ea.

Finally, I find myself rarely using my modular Torc T-22 helmet because the Nolan works so well and is so versatile.

You need one that is shaped properly, and that fits...not one that is just "comfortable." If you choose a helmet for comfort alone, it will almost always be too big to be safe. It needs to be snug, touching evenly all around the head, but not hurt or have pressure points. Go to the dealership, try them on, wear them around for at least 15 minutes, but reject any helmet where you have to select a size bigger than the manufacturer's recommendation for your measured head size. If that size doesn't fit, the helmet is probably the wrong shape for your noggin.

Once you find a helmet that is snug and feels like it fits, try this test:
Fasten the strap, put your hand under it at the back of your neck, and try to rotate it forward on your head.
If it rotates more than a couple of degrees, it's either too loose or the wrong shape for your head.

Truth, right here. Apologies, I always take it for granted that people will measure for fit.

Thanks to all the Helmet ? posters...

Great information. Decided on Shoei GT Air for me and Shoei Quest Goddess for wife. See you all on the roads of northern Michigan or central Indiana!
