• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ok-heres one for all you experts…:ohyea:

my wife & i are looking for a pair of bluetooth headsets that will fit inside our existing helmets.

what we're trying to avoid is the big-eyesore-block on the outside of our helmets. if we HAVE to, thats the way we'll go, but i wanted to check with y'all!

thanks in advance!

I purchased a helmet from Best Buy, yes they sell motorcycle gear that has bluetooth and other stuff. I returned it becuase of wrong size. Nice helmet and there are lots of options out there. It depends on fuctionality of device. Like is it to be used as a means of listening to music or voice communication or both. I'm sure one of the experts have just what you are looking for. :chat:

Hey Matt, I had the Cardo Bluetooth unit and the first time I got caught in the rain, it crapped out. I now have a Starcom1 which mounts under the seat. The only things in the helmet are the earphones. It's not exactly bluetooth but it does work.

Matt,
The wife and I are using the scala G4's (yes the box on the outside) But they work well for us since she has her own :spyder2:
There are other companies that have bluetooth systems that will fit flush against the helmet like Nolan N-Com. You must have a Nolan helmet to use their system. I'm sure you will get many suggestions for the knowledgeable folks here on Spyderlovers :2thumbs:

PS rode all day in the rain today worked like a champ

webBikeWorld has lots of reviews on helmet communication systems.

http://www.webbikeworld.com/

I'm still looking. But the uClear bluetooth system is small and has very good reviews. SENA is also very good.

Yes, they have the "thing" on the side of the helmet. But, I don't want wires. If you want wire "less", you have to deal with the "thing" on the side of the helmet I think.

Anyway, I'll be watching this thread too to see what people use with success.

I was helmet shopping today at Cycle Gear and found a Bell helmet with integrated BT.

I too recently rode in the rain and now the right speaker doesn't work. Attempting to see if Cardo will warranty it since it hasn't been a year since I bought it.

If you want a smooth look on the outside of your helmet look at the Nolan Trilogy N43 modular helmets with the built-in N-Com Bluetooth system. Ours works perfectly and integrates well with my Zumo 660 GPS. :2thumbs:

SCALA G4 (my choice)

My wife and I used the SCALA G4, boom mic and corded mic, http://www.cardosystems.com/scala-rider/scala-rider-g4
I bought from both the store and ebay, ebay had the better deals for sets and they were new not opened. I have been caught several times in the rain and never had an issue. the sound is great for all devices GPS, music, phone and other riders (bike to bike) the software does all the work the hardest thing you have to do is download the application, once you plug it in it walks you through the process of updating both the headset and the software on your pc. I love simplicity!!
