• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Fit

I only have a few minutes this morning on the computer we are going on a Mystery Ride.

I have a GMax GM2X XL. Just a cheap helmet I bought when I needed one in a hurry.

The other one is KBC Tour Com XXL #838405 and it is even tighter than the GMax front to rear.

Thanks for all the info and help.

I wish there was cardboard cutouts to see what shape fits your head...

JT

I believe the GMax is a Round Head helmet (which supports my original theory... I always like that!). Try some Neutral or Intermediate (Different brands use these 2 words for basically the same head shape) and see if that doesn't help. If the Intermediate head shape is still too tight front to back try some more narrow designs.

This isn't a perfect video but it's short and will give you some pointers as to proper helmet fit.

I feel a Goldilocks moment coming for you. You'll find one that fits 'Just Right'!

Stevedfive, Not sure if you're right about their return policy. I'm waiting for my shipment to come from them and the way I read their return policy is it will cost you $7.45 to get a "prepaid" return label and then that amount will be deducted from your refund. Or you can pay to ship it back and get a full refund. Can't find anything on their site about free shipping until you get the size right. If you have that link, please let me know. :-)

My bad. I will rephrase. I bought a helmet and it didn't fit, wrong size. I called them and they said because it didnt fit proper would exchange it for free. They emailed me a return label and I shipped it back. A few weeks later the new helmet arrived. I didn't pay additional shipping fees. However, this was several years ago. In one of the helmet reviews, they state the first helmet size exchange is free. I am sorry that I misspoke on my earlier post

One of my buddies has a Shark with the flip up chin part and he likes it a lot.

Honestly your buddy is right I can't love this helmet enough if your looking for 3/4 with the full face option. Drop down sun visor etc. you can cruise 100+ with the chin bar locked in the rear with no windshield and be fine. I'm not sure about the others where the chin bar only rotates up and seems it could catch a fair amount of wind at speed?
Good luck and happy hunting

One thing for sure I am armed with a lot more information now on helmet hunting. The video and other information on the Revzilla site taught me a lot about fitting a helmet. I do like the way the Shark chin bar sits snug to the back of the helmet.

Thanks again for all the input.

JT

Seems like my problem is that when the helmet fits right according to the video, its too tight on my head. Must have a pumkin head.

I have not sent my nolan back yet, and it felt a bit better a few minutes ago.

Does anyone else find the nolan to not breath quite as well?
my head seems to on the verge of sweating even after a few minutes of testing..

Feature wise, i love everything about the n43
