Helmet. Color and heat!

I wouldn't have believed that there would be such a huge difference in comfort when riding in the heat in white helmet vs black helmet. Rode in 95 degree heat today in new White Schuberth helmet. I mean HUGE DIFFERRENCE! I attribute a big part of it to Schuberth quality and air distribution, and a part in the difference in heat absorption between black and white. Went with the old C3 on sale from Revzilla. What fun.

Believe me it is not the Helmut it is the light color.

:agree: Lighter colors reflect heat, while darker ones absorb it... :thumbup:

Does that helmet have bluetooth integration? If so how do you like it? I am concerned about bluetooth due to me not having any idea how the speakers are in the helmet? I don't have a dealer nearby to go and see, so I am thinking about a new white helmet (it will be mail order and I won't be able to return it) and I want to get something well spectacular!

The Sena Bluetooth can be attached to most any helmet, speakers come with it and work well.
if you " mail order " through Revzilla, you can return/re-order at no charge. Check out their website. They have reviews and comments on most all helmets.

Just bought a mesh jacket, pants, boots and gloves from them. Only draw back was it was all shipped separately. For me I get charged $5 for each box the guy in Texas receives, he crosses the border for me, pays the taxes (I really doubt it and this is where he makes his money), then ships to me once it is out of Customs. So it was $30 (I bought more than 6 items) extra I paid, I wish they would just ship 1 box. I was pretty happy with the RevCash back thingy, but it is cancelled out now by that issue. Makes it tough. I save a bunch on postage this way instead of having shipped directly to me....by Revzilla. I will check this out though! Thanks!

Agree that lighter colors reflect the sun and darker colors seem to absorb the suns rays.

Akspyderlady likes her black helmet and has not complained about excessive heat.

I currently have a silver, three yellow and one red. The yellow and red were bought for high visibility purposes, the silver was a matching deal for one of the spyders.

Vented windshield

Ya,
I know---- differedn topic but:

I recently went with a vented windshield and " what a difference". Still get the breeze in my face and enough to make the helmet vent. A good investment.
