• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello Fellow Yankees

The phrase Damn Yankees comes ...

It is kinda going out now, but the dam Yankee phrase was quite prevalent in the South when I was growing up and had nothing to do with a baseball team. I could get by with saying ain't but would get criticized if I didn't use the full term for those poor folks who were forced to live north of the Mason Dixon.

Thanks everyone,
When I started reading the constitution years ago I was amazed that the founding fathers had written such and incredible document over 200 Years ago! And in all that time there has only been 27 amendments which is also amazing. The constitution is as true today as it was when it was written in my opinion bit it is so much more.
They DID get it right; didn't they? :D :2thumbs:

Oh...
That whole thing about "Damn Yankees"

Put a different "spin" on it; and it's not a problem!

Good for you... Congrats and Welcome.

I was told that a Yankee came south to visit and a damn Yankee came south and stayed... I fall into the latter group and proud of it...

Hello fellow Yank...er Americans

In Canada and Great Britain all Americans are referred to as Yanks or Yankees. I believe it comes from the song "I am a Yankee Doodle Dandy". It is not considered derogatory, more like calling a Canadian a Canuck or some one from Britain a "Brit". The word "Damn" near proceeds it but I have heard it that way used in movies.

Congrats

:) Well it is official, I am now a US citizen! I came to live in the US 25 years ago when I met and married my wife and became a registered alien. I have come to understand and share the deep respect Americans have for the constitution and the love of country that is a common trait in all and as such felt I must take the necessary steps to citizen ship. So I am now proud to be counted among my fellow U.S. citizens and hope I am worthy of the faith my new country has placed in me. Yay for me!!!!

Love your attitude about our great country, you will be an plus.
