• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Heated underwear?

Does anyone make heated underwear for Winter riding? I have a great jacket and pants that have liners but wanted to add heated garments to go between them and me.
thanks

Check with Gerbing as they have a full selection of heated clothing, although I don't recall any underwear included in what I have seen. I doubt underwear would feel very good beacuse you'd have pressure points where you pressed directly against the heating elements or wires, nor would it be practical. Clothing that is directly against the skin need frequent washing, which would be problematic for electrically heated underwear. It would be better to have jacket liners and overpants that have regular garments underneath them.

I guess I meant liners and not something that would be next to my skin.
I can do wiring, no problem there.

I had placed a Geocaching Travel Bug item in a Geocache in Alaska, August 2008 with the goal of coming back to North Georgia. Well, he made it yesterday to Taccoa, GA and I rode up this morning to retrieve him. I was wanting to take him to the Going Coastal mega event this next weekend and share his story of travel across the world.
I may get to ride with DaisyJoe on Wednesday as she lives down near Savannah, GA.

It got down to 37 degrees according to my RT's read out. I think I need some new ya-yas as I think I froze my off? At least my palms were warm.

I'll check the items y'all mention and see if any are available locally? Thanks!

It's not advisable to have heated gear right against the skin anyway.. potential for heat rash or low grade burns.

My wife has Gerbing, I have Tourmaster. You can't go wrong with either. Be sure to get it to fit snugly. It is warmest when fit snug, over a thin layer below. Bike shops that cater to touring riders will often have a nice selection of heated gear, with an opportunity to try it on.

Gerbing

I have a Gerbing jacket liner and gloves. The gloves plug into the sleeves of the jacket liner. Warm as toast. I just have Knee Necks for the lower legs.

Gerbing...2nds

Have jacket, pants, gloves...where over light weight underarmour then add outer either jacket/pants or bajaron one piece suit. Snug as bug in a rug!!!! Buying the Gerbing 2ds was a huge savings and certainly can't see any issues...came with the same guarantee....suppose to get down to 20' here (altho today it was 60' when I left for my ryde!!) and until snow/ice come I will ryde and stay warm

We laugh at 37 degrees. Suck it up GA rider, it's going to be in the upper 20's tonight here !!!!! Your more than welcome to come North.

Obviously it's a joke about the suck it up part.

Thanks for the tip on heated clothing. I will be purchasing some this week (if I get released from rehab). I lost about 3 months of riding time so far and want to ride later in the season before the snow flies. I rode last year without heated gear and it just about killed big jim and the twins. :roflblack:
