Sometimes I can be extremely cheap.
What triggers this isn't exactly evident to me.
When I saw F3 heated grips for $219.00 something just happened.
So I ordered a set of Chinese elements on ebay for $4.55 including shipping.
Heated Grip Elelment
They came a few weeks later.
I didn't like the switch (even though it was a two position hi/lo so I opted for what looks for all the world like the same switch BRP uses on their grips.
Like BRP's it has only one setting (hi).
That was 8.99 from Amazon.
Last week I got around to installing them.
Really simple.
You wrap the element around the existing grip then use the provided heat shrink tubes over them.
Wire them up.
I put a pair of grip buddies over them.
I've heard that the regular F3 heated grips are tepid, not so with these.
In fact I think I'll put a 2 ohm resistor in series to tuurn down the heat.
Of course, How the existing grips stand up to the heat remains to be seen.
