• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heated gloves

I need battery operated heated gloves before Spyderfest this year. What recommendations does anyone have? I want gloves that have the battery in them (9 volt/AA, etc.) and have the wiring that goes up the fingertips also.

I have gerbing glove liners as part of my full heated suit vest ,pant liners, socks, I went with liners so that I could use shells and replace I wear gloves out pretty fast I use some of my gloves that the insulation is getting matted down and cut out the inside and put in my heated liner and away I go you can add to the full suit 1 of at a time until you have a full system they have a battery pack to run this off the bike if you want but why buy battery's when you have a charging system and power source under the seat a 9 volt wouldn't go very long , and I really love the sock liners , with the full set of liners I can ride down to 35 deg and be warm as toast the hole set will store in a bag about 12x10x4 so I can carry it always and slip into it under whatever I'm riding in and never get caught freezing , this is something I always wanted and talked myself out of then I realized look at the investment I have in the machine so to extend my riding season by a bunch the heated suit is a bargin

U use Gerbing gloves on the bike and bought Columbia Bugaboo for PGR missions. I would not plan on Battery gloves for rides as the battery life is too short.

Sorry, we don't have battery gloves, but my Powerlet gloves are great, and Nancy likes her Gerbings.

I have just ordered these off Ebay. Am awaiting delivery. Thought I'd try this route before i spend big $$ on Gerbings http://www.ebay.com/itm/29077109068...eName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Can't beat that price if they work at all. Be sure to give us some feedback after you've had a chance to use them.

FWIW, I have the Gerbing combo elect/batt glove but chose not to buy the special batteries to power the glove because they're only good for 2 hrs or less, depending on how much power you set them for. I use them with my Gerbing liner powered off the Can Am battery. I do highly recommend Gerbing products as they are one company that stands behind their products. My orig gloves developed a hole in the finger and they cheerfully replaced them with new ones.

You might also consider this direction to keep your hands warm. They're at Bass Pro Shop...

;) After market heated grips. There are permanent & also removable ones. I used them on 3 previous bikes & was always pleased. $60.00 to $100.00 ----Budro

Yvonne , smart girl ....and yes those are ski gloves like I suggested earlier...No you don't get a much skin protection because they are not leather....However 99.9 % of Spyderriders do not fall off their spyders...IMHO......Mike ............Annnnnnnnnd Ski gloves are made for some very cold Temps. :agree:

Hi Mike...I have these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oxford-Hoth...51?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a254d9443 right now on my bike. I really like them but the back of my fingers still get cold. I thought I'd try the gloves and see how they do. Worth a try.

A PROBLEM WITH ALL HEATED GRIPS ! ! !

The only other solution I found for the top of hand /finger PROBLEM was to use " HIPPO HANDS " which were complete air /waterproof sleeves? that went over the handle bar ends and you put your hands inside them....this worked fine on a Snow-mobile because you didn't have a lot of controls to work.....But on the Spyder it would be a little tricky...Doable ,but tricky......See you guys at Spyderfest.... :ohyea:
