• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heated Gear For Dummy

I was at a BMW shop Saturday looking at Gerbing heated jacket liners and gloves. When I got home I checked eBay to see how much they were on there and one my size had a starting price of $125 from a reputable dealer so I figured I would start the bidding. I opened eBay today and had a note that I had won. I'm excited about the deal I got but have no idea how much juice my F3-S has available. I'm guessing the jacket liner will be fine but what if I get a dual controller and some gloves? Right now I am pulling no additional current but plan to get a GPS or phone charger. I saw something about a Bikemaster controller for a fraction of the price? Anyone have any experience? I appreciate any and all guidance.

Not to worry....

your alternator puts out 1200 watts and my stator puts out 800 watts. I ryde with two jackets and two sets of gloves (me and the wife) and have no problems. You can add the gloves and a whole outfit for your passenger and then some...:thumbup:

You'll be fine. You have more than enough juice to add all the heated gear you can stand.

I have the Gerbing jacket liner and the gloves, but bought a Warmnsafe wireless dual controller. It works fine with Gerbings gear and I put a little strip of velcro on the dash to hold it in place. It has knobs that are easy to work with gloves on, and is a LOT easier to adjust, compared to a unit in your pocket and hard-wired in.

Ride on, Brother!

And you might want to check out the full line of Warm and SAfe gear. I like theirs a little better then Gerbings. They sell it under their own name and also under the First Gear name.

wife and I live in Wyoming we both wear heated gear jackets, boot liner,s pant liners, and never been left out in the COLD

Don't be fooled by low prices on Gerbing. The company that bought Gerbing from Gordon Gerbing did not do so well. I have two of their burned up products. They moved manufacturing to the far east and some of the units were defective. Gordon has bought the company back and the new Gerbing is called Gyde Gerbing. $200--220 is the going price for the real thing. Most stock of the old units are being liqudated and some were deficient. I have two of the old jackets and the pants are new Gyde Gerbing.

Gordon and his family lived about 35 miles from me when I lived on Bainbridge Is. and is the original developer of heated gear.
