• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone ride on or use a heated seat? If so what is your opinion of it and is it a good idea???

We had the BRP one for awhile, but could not live with the reduced passager space.
We have the Russell day long now with heat and it's great!

An opinion....

I have heated seats in my car, why you might ask as we live in a warmer climate, bought the car in Connecticut..:roflblack: now even there I only used the heat to get the chill out of the seat then turned it off. Don't know what spyder you have and I have not been on a bike with heated seats or grips but on my RS I have found that neither my palms nor butt are the problem with the cold. We do need heated gear and found jacket liners and heated gloves are what best work for us. But then on an RS you are out in the wind....

I live south of you and ride all year, sometimes at freezing temps and have never seen a need for a heated seat.

I have never felt the need for a heated seat on my :ani29::spyder:'s. Add about $500 for the extra cost.

I do like the heated handgrips. When it gets to be black ice season--here late October or early November--I just park them until Spring. Late March/early April.

I have the heated comfort seat and have used it from early spring all the way through mid December. I enjoy the extra legroom also.

Heated seat

Thanks all for the replies. I haven't bought a Spyder yet. Am trying to decide between the RSL and the F3L. So far the seat on the F3 feels more comfortable. Just trying to get as much information as possible so I can get what makes sense.

In all my 40+ years of riding either 2 wheels or 3 wheels, I have never complained that my butt is cold. Its my hands and feet that get cold, not my butt.
