Heat Shield for my 2015 RT SE6

We are installing heat shields in the hopes that my ankles will be cooler on our 14 day trip. I will let you know if it works.

we have had no problem with a hot foot on our 2015. Had a 2013 with heat problem.

You are seating on an internal combustion gasoline engine, just saying :thumbup:

You can probably remove the plastic pans under the engine and put the 2013 RT recall scoops on to force some air in there.

We put the scoops that they made up for the 2013's on our 2014. Actually made the glove box usable. Prior to the change you could almost heat your lunch in it. The kit was about $50.

Which panel is that you are holding up. I cannot tell from the picture? I applied that reflective heat shield to the back of both top side panels (next to your knees and the glove box) and also the underside of both black panels under the seat, on my 2013 RT prior to the recall. It did help a lot. The panels were actually comparatively cool to the touch after that. :thumbup:

I also agree with the suggestion of adding the 2013 air intake scoops. Several 1330 owners have reported that has help to reduce heat.

I got an Air Hawk seat pad. That took care of the crotch heat. My thighs are fine. It's my lower legs taking the brunt of the heat. One more to install, then I will test ryde it.

Looking forward to informed opinion & results. Was(am) considering doing exhaust wrap & same on my ST (even heat reflection around the gas tank) but cant justify the cost yet. The bike runs fine only real heat problem i had was fixed with warranty. I have noticed the gas cap be lil too warm very few times, bout it. Let us know how it goes. & dont loose any parts

....Debbie, if your fix isn't sufficient, you want to consider something to actually remove the heat from the engine area.......Go on E-Bay item # 121899358990 .....this is just one of many sizes this seller offers..... you can get other sizes. They use very little power and can move quite a bit of air. You will just have be inventive on the way to do it.......good luck DIY'er :clap:.....Mike :thumbup:

Install the air scoops from the 2013 heat recall. They are less than $70 and your hot air at the crotch will be GONE and glove box will stay cool.

I did this intalltion on my 2015 RT Limited, and for less than $70.00 is the best low cost mod. I've done to my Spyder. Search for Doc Riverside and you will find all the information you need to learn about where to get the kit, and how to do the installation.

Rode today with temperatures in the high 80s. My legs were comfortable no matter what speed I was going. I think this was a successful way to get rid of the burn!

Thx for that info , now to figure out the square footage i would need.... I was quoted $500 +parts for the pipe wrap most of my shopping has been autozone & the like. Nothing to make me jump on just yet. Again no real heat problem on mine thankfully.

Must be because were up North.I have a 2015 RT-S with no heat problems at all.
