There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Heat question

Question , was there a recall for heat on 2012 RS .?
First day of road trip and wife wants to get rid of bike because right leg on fire

Have to agree...

:agree: I have a 2012 RS with the spyderpops air management systems and have no issue with the heat at the right foot....

Thank you for asking this question. I also noticed this as an issue on my 2009 spyder. I'm on this like white on RICE.

Also

Do I need both GS/RS Missing Air damn and Air management system or what?

I would get both. I use both on my 08 GS. I no longer get a hot right leg. Sometimes my foot does get hot when I use my highway pegs, but not very hot. They are both well work the investment.

I don't know how many of you ride in the colder weather, but there have been many times I was thankful for the heat.

Spyderpops air management system and new Y-gasket solved our heat problems.
Note, it's still pretty warm if you ride with shorts and sneakers, but with long pants and proper riding boots it's a non-issue.

Wait this was only an issue for me when i was riding in slippers
:opps:
. Don't judge don't judge.

If I ride with proper boots / jeans I have no issue what so ever.

So i guess I shouldn't need the air management just common sense then
:roflblack:

Even with all the heat management mods, after a ride in shorts, my right calf looks like cooked lobster. Long pants with high boots is the only reprieve.
Imagine what your calf would look like after a crash without proper protection.

But he's absobloodylutely right in what he says in his post above!!

Aaand he's probably not too concerned about any heat issues on his Spyder either, so he's probably got more respect & credibility from people on that basis!

I've noticed that it's pretty easy to rack up friends on a Forum, just about any fool can do it if that's what they are trying to do!! But it's a whole lot harder to generate respect and credibility!!

Replaced the gaskets with the Honda ones and wrapped the pipes under the tupperware with a ceramic blanket.

Heat on right foot 2008 RS

I have a 2008 RS that is cooking my foot and right leg. I understand that some models were offered factory solutions. Is that true for the 2008? Anyone know? I plan to wrap the exhaust system but that may be detrimental to the system itself as the pipes may get too hot. Can the heat from the right radiator be deflected without impairing engine cooling? Perhaps deflected further out into the air stream. Thanks, Harold Knobel

I had a 2012 RS and nothing worked to reduce the heat including the Spyder Pops products. I was about to purchase the 2013 or 2014 RS body panels for the RS that had a different design as a last ditch effort but I took a demo ride on the F3 and the rest is history.
