There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. heat on the right foot is pretty hot in the summer months!

Guys, the heat is pretty bad on the right foot coming off the engine of my spyder. It is a 2013 model RT Limited, with the new vents added to cool off the motor. The vents work great, but I think my heat on the right foot got worse with the new vents. I looked at foot pegs, but this looks like it would put my foot more in line of the heat! O'well, I guess am just used to Harley's with out all the plastic around the engine! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Buy a 2014 Right side vent. It matches the left side vent where the oil tank is, and the bottom has a block off plate the keep your right foot from roasting. Very minor modification needed to make it fit. I cut all or the tabs off of the bottom and was able to get in place. Total time about 15 minutes. Here's the link:

2014 grill on right side to help heat off foot

If I put the 2014 grill on the right side of my 2013 spyder RT Limited, where does the heat all go to? do you have to cut holes in bottom, or what method do you use to get heat out of motor? Does the grill have holes in it? thanks for your answers, I like the idea of the grill because people are always telling me that I have lost a grill out of that side, and it takes time to explain that one didn't come there! Thanks for any more replies!!

Drill a bunch of holes in the bottom pans: LOTS of them! nojoke

I have a 2013 rt Ltd, used the above grill from Spyderpops. Sealed the grill on the inside, cut hole in pan and removed the lower plate. No heat coming from the dragon mouth now and have highway pegs. Wouldn't trade it for a newer model. Have almost 50,000 miles of great riding.

heat on right foot on 2013 RT Limited

I ordered the grill guard for the right side (2014 year model Part #705004803) as oldguyinCT suggested! will figure out how to install it once it comes in, and probably cut holes in bottom panel or remove the right front panel as suggested! Are the front bottom panels to keep water from coming off the road onto the motor, or what are they installed for? Has anyone had any problems after they removed them? Should I just bore holes in them? I am new to this spyder riding as you can tell! Old Harley men are hard to change, but I do like the Spyder if it will be reliability!!!

Well

As Bob suggested, make sure yiu are wearing a great pair of Ryding boots. We do and there is NO heat on the foot! As a former Harley rider, I am sure yiu are doing this though? yes? No?

I had a heat shield installed on my RT Ltd 2013 and never had a problem with heat on my right foot. The dealer installed it when I bought it.
