There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Heat and a whine.

Hi guys - sorry I fell off the face of the earth! It's good to be back (been way too busy with work and school).

It was 99 degrees yesterday and I was wondering about heat coming off the byke. I seriously thought my right shoe was going to melt. I had to take my foot away - tucked it back by the passenger foot rest. I had the left side pipe wrapped, but I don't think they wrap the right side (they didn't offer). I saw some 'air wings' that are made for the RS, but not sure if they would work (and I'm not sure if I like what it does to the byke's lines).

2nd question -- when I get to about 4,000rpms, I hear a whine that I do not hear at 3,000 or 5,000. Should I be concerned? While I was at the dealership the other day (really nice customer appreciation event), I asked one of the techs, and he thought it was the tires. I didn't have the byke with me at the time. It sounds like the engine is trying harder (a higher whine), but not sure.

I have just under 1,000 miles on her. She's about 8 months old now.

Thanks, as always, for your experience and knowledge!!

Hi,
I live in Austin, TX and have an extreme heat problem also. I had it really bad on the right side first, and then I went and purchased all of the heat management things from Spyderpops and that took care of the heat on the right side, but now I'm experiencing it on the left side real bad. I am going to try and have the pipe wrapped on that side and maybe have my y gaskets checked too. It doesn't help having the temps be in the high 90's or 100's either!:(

Thanks! I think the left side wrapping worked, because I only get the heat on the right.

I'll call the dealership on Monday and see if I buy the Spyderpop stuff, they would install it. I don't know enough to do it myself. Yet. I trust STS to do the work.

I haven't gotten up the nerve to ride the highways yet, but when I do, maybe we can ride - you're not that far (Texas-wise) from me. I love to ride to work -it's 30 miles, most of it highway 16. It's just so hot by 4pm...

Heat Problem

I met their mechanic at STS and he is very nice and seems very passionate about what he does and seems to know his stuff! We met him the day of the appreciation party. Good luck and I hope the spyderpop items work for you too. I'm also a member of the San Antonio Spyder Rider Group and have just started one here in Austin. Central Texas Spyder riders. We have 27 members so far. Hope to meet you sometime.

Wine is best slightly chilled.... :D

Unless it is a merlot.

Seriously - I have nothing to worry about? It's just that I hear it only during the 4,000 rpm range. I thought about taking her to the shop (and I will when I order the SyperPops goodies/they come in) - it's a 100 mile roundway trip to go there (which is a nice ride, btw).

wow - we were at the same party (great hamburgers!), and didn't even know it. Some of the bikes there were awesome! Meetings like that always makes my wish list grow quickly!

I'll see you on Meetup, and hopefully in person soon.

I also have noticed an unusual sound like the one you are describing. The sound started about two months ago.
