• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headset Cable Connector

Greetings. Posting this on behalf of my wife, FiFi. Just had the CB installed on her RT. There's an 8 inch pigtail for the drivers headset cable. On Goldwings, there's a headset connector/holder that the connection sits in. This avoids the cable wildly banging against the bike. See below pics. Is there one made for the Spyder? Couldn't find one at the dealer. Didn't know what I was talking about until I showed him one on a Goldwing they had. The current Goldwing connector/holder have 2 small nipples that fit into holes on the bike. The older model Goldwing has one that has 2 sided tape. I would probably mount it on the glove box lid. I also noticed when the wife disconnects the headset cable form the pigtail, the pigtail swivels off to one side. Don't think that's good for the connector on the bike.

BTW, I have a Kawasaki Voyager with the factory CB/intercom set-up. The headsets and cables are identical to BRP's for the Spyder. We used my passenger headset cable on her Spyder when she first got the CB installed. Then I ordered her a Kawasaki driver headset cable for the Spyder as it may have been a lot cheaper then the BRP one. And in case you didn't know, a company called Radio Sound, http://www.radiosound.com/, makes most radios, cb's etc for most bikes. But you have to be a dealer to order from them.

Considered using the same holder but found the following to work, and it keeps the plug from rubbing on any painted surface. Once the headset is plugged in, move the cable up and over the left grip. It'l then rest on top of the bar and willl set snug next to the function control switches (unless you're making a tight turn). The pig tail will naturally take on a 'U' shape and stays in the switch tray. Has worked well for me for thousands of miles. Just a suggestion that worked well for me.

Also, the plug has some free play in its slot - both ways. The most important thing to keep an eye on is the plastic lock nut. If it backs off and the plug drops down 'in the black hole' you'll be removing some tupperware. Because it is plastc, I wouldn't over tightn it either.
