• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headlights too good?

We are having troubles on 2 lane roads at night with oncoming cars flashing their lights like we have the brights on. I checked the headlight alignment and we still get flashed all of the time. Anyone else having this issue?

I put on custom dynamic s led on the bottom of my rts and I run with my bright lights on and my fog lights on and I geet the high beam treatment, that means to me they can see me, I, m happy

YUP

YUP....
happens all the time...
i just 'flash' mine back @ them...
look @ it this way: @ LEAST THEY SEE YOU.... which equals safety...

Low beam shutters not low enough

You need to adjust the low beams, not the high beams though. That will correct the problem. The screws to adjust are just below where the fog lights would be located in the air ducts.

Just sayin'............

Headlights

Being seen or blinding someone coming in the opposite direction is just wrong. It's not being courteous to other drivers. That's why your being flashed.

Adjust..!!

the low beams for load. I put weight on the seat and adjust. If not when you get on the beam rises and if a passenger gets on even more. The other thing is the shutter may flutter, on low beam, making it look like you are flashing them....

Many times; it's just the nature of these headlights.
They throw a tightly focused beam. As you hit bumps in the road, the bike's nose rises and falls; making it appear that you're flashing YOUR headlights... :yikes:

I was flashed one time. I was in my service truck and she was driving a Mercedes she pulled her skirt up. I nearly ran off the road. :yikes:

I have so far had two oncoming drivers flash their headlights at me since owning the 2014. I just turn on and off the high beams one time and it seems to solve the issue.

I have no idea how the :spyder2: lights work on night roads. It does not get dark now until 11:30 PM or so and I am not driving at that time. Working our way up to the solstice on 6/20. Does not get dark at all--just dusky for about a half an hour.

Common problem with the Spyder as the shutter flutters on bumps and appears to 'flash' the lights towards oncoming traffic. Most folks just leave the high beams on all the time and that eliminates the flutter.

On bright days the high beams aren't going to annoy anyone terrifically but they do ensure that you get noticed. At night or on overcast or rainy days, I do move them down to the lower setting.

If you still get flashed by oncoming traffic the setting does need to be turned down a half turn or so. Best way to do this is to have the Spyder facing a garage wall or side of a house and then adjust the beams with the copper colored knob under the side panels. It doesn't take much of a turn to move them up and down.

Lucky... :D I'm completely "night blind" anymore... :banghead:

So what happens at the Winter Solstice? How much daylight do you get on that day in December?

I think that I'd just as soon stay in bed for a day like that! :D

Headlights too bright

I have had the same problem, in that I live out in the country, with no street lights. I have actually had oncoming cars pull over and wait until I pass. They are good lights on a dark street, for sure!
