• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headlights Flashing???

I found out when I am driving down the road, my right front headlight will increase in intensity as I am driving down the road. Is this normal? I wasn't sure if this is designed to draw attention so people see you or is there something wrong with the electrical system.

I've been told mine does the same thing. We are working on realigning the headlights and seeing if that helps.

Ours looked like that in the rearview mirror, too, until I adjusted the headlights. These projector lights are not readily seen in the daylight from much of an angle. Hitting bumps makes them seem to disappear.

Do you have the HID's? I just did the HID conversion yesterday and I was not impressed with the factory setup for holding the bulb. Lamonster mentioned on his install he had a hard time twisting the holder under the bolt heads. On mine, there were no bolt heads, just two tabs that twist into two slots. Not a very secure setup! The bulb holder could easily twist out on one side and then the bulb will flop around and the intensity would appear to increase and descrease. Just a thought. Did anyone else experience the same tab setup?

Someone told me that they noticed that the light was "flashing". I tried out by travelling behind a pickup and could tell in the reflection of the tailgate that as you increased the throttle the headlight would get brighter. When I asked my wife and she checked in the rear view mirror she said the same thing. These are the headlights that are standard.

Does the intensity change when revving the engine in neutral??

When you get on the gas, the front of the vehicle rises. This can make the headlights seem brighter, since the projector lights point higher then, and the truck rearview mirror is higher than they are. Adding a passenger will do the same thing. This type of light shines a very narrow, focused beam, and will look much stronger directly in front thatn it will at any angle. In fact, it seems to disappear at some angles. If you do not believe it, start the Spyder and walk by the front. You will see the headlights "disappear" in sequence. Revving in neutral, or at a stoplight should not produce the same effect, or at least not to the same degree. The Spyder does have a transverse crankshaft, so there will be a little torque fore-and-aft even without a load.
