• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headed North to Gatlinburg

The Syder is as loaded down. I'm hitting the road in about ten minutes. Destination is Gatlinburg. I'm just taking a week to get there. So, I am headed up north first. I'm Going to Washington (State). Then I will make a left when my MMGS says to. I will cover the Northern States, Be in Ohio next Saturday, for my brothers Birthday. Then on down to Gatlinburg.
Those of you that are going I'll see you there. Those that aren't, then I will see you in October.

I will post picts when I get a chance.

Ride Safe

Ummmmm, if Mickey tells you to take a left while you're heading north in Washington, won't you get wet?:dontknow:

Stay dry-have a safe journey:2thumbs::doorag:

That's what I was thinking. Unless he goes near Canada, then heads south again.

Bon Voyage Tony, have a wonderful adventure. Smell the roses (other things out there too) and see the grandeur of our country.

After a rough start, I finally got on the road 4 hours later than I had planned. I went out to the garage to start the Spyder, and got nothing. I had a dead battery. No big deal, I put the charger on it for a few minutes and it started right up (the charger was still attached). I got on the Spyder and headed toward the freeway. First stop the gas station. I shut Spydie down, Filled with gas, went to start and nothing. Definitely a dead battery. So I got a jump start and took Spydie home, cussing all the way.

Pulled the battery, went to a couple auto parts stores, and of course they don’t carry HL batteries. Went to local dealer, and waited in the parking lot for them to open. The local dealer doesn’t open until 9:00am on Saturdays. Once they opened they checked, to see if they had one in stock. Wouldn’t you know it, they don’t. Well they knew I was heading one the road. They were nice enough to pull a battery from the Phantom Black one they had on the showroom floor. I get the battery home, installed, and Spydie fired right up. I hit the road.

Using my MMGS, to guide me http://http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14042&highlight=mmgs . I have finally made it to Missoula, Montana. I have traveled just over 2,000 miles, in three days. All I can say, is it picks some wonderful riding terrain. Definatly not the fastest or most direct. I have gone from the California Desert up to Reno, Nevada, Into Ashland Oregon, Back to California to Crescent City, UP the Oregon Coast, into the Washington, state. Mt. St Helens, and Rainer, Finally across WhodaHo, and into Montana.

By the way, I learned that there is a Spyder Ryder in Amboy, Washington. A couple from Tennessee told me. Anyone, know who that is?

Saw Tony today

Riding on 385 in the Black Hills today, looked in my rear view mirror and saw another Spyder! Pulled over and it was Tony! Had a nice little chat on the side of the road and he was off!

Good to meet you, Tony! Ride safe and have a great trip!

It was great to meet you. I'm staying in Wall, South Dakota tonight. Heading into Minnasota in the morning.

My brother is in Englewood. I should be there by Friday. I will be heading to Tenn., on Sunday.

That might be do-able, assuming I get my Spyder back from the shop. 13 days and counting for the 600-mile checkup. I'll PM you this weekend.

Ouch... Did they walk to Valcourt to get the replacement parts?

I hope you get it back as well. I am heading down to Gatlinburg on Sunday as well. We can cruise down together.

I'll send you a PM with my Cell number.

Here is an update.

Tonight, I am somewhere in Iowa. I really don't know the name of the town, but somewhere sounds good.

Tuesday, I road through Yellowstone. What a beautiful ride. The scenery is incredible. I didn't log as many miles as intended. There was some road construnction going on after leaving Yellowstone's south entrance. First I sat for 30 minutes not going anywhere. Then they led a cravan through the construction at 17 miles an hour for 20+ miles stopping in between to let cravans go from the other direction. I ended up staying in a nice little town named Du Bious, in Wyoming.

Yesterday, was a great ride except for getting my second speeding ticket. I road from Duboius up to Thermopolis, Incredicible canyons, then up to Gillete, over to Deadwood South Dakoda. I road thorugh the Black Hills and over to Mount Rushmore. If you have never seen it, it is well worth the trip. I Stayed the night in Wall South Dakota. I did 675 miles of all canyons. When I fnally stopped, I realized that my hands were tired, from constant clutch and throttling up and down. But what fun.

Today, I actually stayed on the interstates. Basically I felt I had too. I had to get a new front tire. The right tire was pretty much shot on the inside tread. I got a new tire at a dealer in Worthington Minnosota. The dealer was great, I call them when I was an hour out. When I got there they took me right in and replace the tire. They went over the front end pretty well. But, they were unable to determine what the tire wore that quickly and on just on side. That tire only had 5,000 miles on it. Hopefully there will be a couple of BRP tech in Gatlinburg. So, they can look at it.

Worthingon. MN was where I got my update on the steering done. Right off I-90 and yes a good dealer. Tony, if you got speeding tickets you are forgetting one thing. You can't smell the roses going over the speed limit.
