• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HE/WE DID IT!

Blood counts are on their way up...Erags should be sitting pretty good when it comes time for the next round of chemo.:yes::yes: Thanks for all the :pray::pray:, everyone. Now we've just got to figure out how he'll get lab work done when Isaac is heading this way. :yikes: Gotta go now to finish battening down the hatches...do we stay, or do we go?

Wether you stay or go don't forget to "batten down" the :spyder: and stay dry.................that goes for all in the path of Issac. :lecturef_smilie:

That's a question only you can answer. Considering the track has a bulls eye on Mobile which really isn't all that far from Pensacola :yikes:

DocRags - Continued prayers for Chemo 2. As someone said on here, eventually it will all seem like a bad dream, from one who knows!

Bakerman - prayers for you, too, as you continue treatment and eventual healing.

Great news!! Thoughts and prayers are still going your way!! Stay safe during the storm too!!

Dee

Went through treatments last year, please make sure that he is will hydrated during chemo. Prayers with you both!

You are so right. Chemo is poison not only to cancer but to your organs as well, especially the kidneys and liver in alot of cases, depending on the chemo. Hydration helps you get rid of it and helps you to feel better overall.

Good news/Bad news today

Today was one of those "good news/bad news" kind of days... we saw the oncologist and found out that Erags' blood counts are on the way back up.:yes:He should be able to start round two next week on schedule. Unfortunately, we also found out that he has twice as many chemo treatments to go through than we thought he did. Since the odd numbered cycles are a different chemo than the even numbered ones, what we have been referring to as cycles are really only half cycles in the oncologist's book. When he mentioned he thought 3 or 4 cycles would do the trick to get Ed into remission, he really meant 6 or 8 21-day cycles (or 3 or 4 42-day ones!) :yikes: That will teach me to ask a question! :hun::gaah: We've got a lot longer with this than we thought! The oncologist wants us to go back to MD Anderson periodically to basically serve as a reminder to the oncologist that Ed is around, in case a new clinical trial for mantle cell lymphoma comes up...oh, boy...I see travel in our future! As in Oct 9 and 10, when appointments are set up in Houston. Guess I better get off here and start looking at hotel rooms again.

Good news/Bad news today, Part 2

Ed's blood counts were so good today (well, other than a persistent anemia and low platelet count) that he's been set free until Labor Day, when he has to have lab drawn to make sure he can start chemo round two on Tuesday. Bad news is we're still getting crappy weather from Isaac so we can't ride our :spyder2:. Maybe tomorrow will bring sunshine to the area.
