Casister Drip / Fumes Poll ?

I have had the gas fume problem on our 2011 RT Limited. Since the new gas cap didn't fix the problem I performed the "canisterectomy". Took the Spyder on a 100 mile ride yesterday. Parked in the garage after return and closed the the door. Went back out to the garage 15 minutes later and was overwelmed with gas fumes. This only happens afte long rides. Not sure what to do next. Can't find any obvious leaks.

This is why I am still avoiding doing a "Canisterectomy" if it is not going to fix the problem. It would be interesting to see just how widespread this problem is, plus how many have done canisterectomies, and how many still have the problem, etc.

Any chance of someone setting up a Poll thread? Maybe BRP would pay more attention if the problem is widespread and hi-lighted....

Gas Stinks.

In the old days, gas did not stink this bad, but that is another issue all together.

Wife rode yesterday, 200 miles. I was on my Harley. Even at stop lights, although I could not hear her bike, I could smell gas. This is ridiculous. There is no way that this can be safe. I honestly, however secretly, hoped that thing would catch fire and burn to the ground. Hell, I'd be willing to get her a new one.

When we got home, I left it in the driveway for an hour onaconna I don't want my house to burn as well.

The idea that the pipes need to be wrapped, or you can only fill up to 3/4, fill before you get home, or better yet don't worry about it is B.S.

I can't believe that the EPA has not gotten involved. When you go to a gas station, all those added parts on the fuel nozzle are part of the EPA requirement to restrict the raw gas fumes from entering the atmosphere. What is the difference between the fumes from the pump, and the fumes from your Spyder?

Talking to BRP is like pissin up a rope. :banghead: I hope nobody ever dies in a fire, but I fear that is what it will take to get the attention from our neighbors to the north.
