There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Haven't posted in a while. Has everyone been doing ok?

My last few post on the forum were a long time ago. I had just posted the picture of my new Slingshot. It was back in December I think.

I finally had to get rid of my 2 wheeled motorcycle last month. My knee just couldn't take the stress anymore. I never knew how much it would bother me to see it disappear down the driveway with its new owner.

Anyway, I have two spyder Super Clamp chocks that I am going to be posting on here for sale. I will post them in the "for sale" section later this afternoon.

I noticed some of you on this forum are also over on the Slingshot forum as well. I guess if you like things on three wheels you would have to have both toys in your garage... :sour:

Here are a couple of pictures of the only thing left in my garage. I have already put over 8000 miles on it since Jan. I added a turbo to it and gave it a bit more power and modified pretty much everything else on it as well. It suffers from being very hot also. In the summer heat it gets very very hot in the driver area. I guess every bike has it quirks and flaws. You just have to get used to them...

I like the custom color of that new "car" of yours... :D
How much extra "zip", does the turbo add to the package?

EDIT: A musical interlude...

Hey Bob,,, Its great to hear from you as well.

It takes it to almost 300HP. In stock configuration it dyno'ed at 155HP at the rear tire. Now it puts down 287HP at the rear tire. The "safe" magic number for the stock engine is 300HP.
Anything more and they will rapidly disassemble themselves...:joke::joke:

I believe the stock LE5 GM engine is 174HP at the crankshaft. They are a bunch of fun but they do lack that "zip" that makes it fun when they are stock. A lot of companies are making turbo kits for them now. It just wakes them up quite a bit.

I am super proud of it as y'all can tell. Polaris sent a film crew to one of the events we had. I got to be in one of the Polaris commercials with it. Mine is the white one they show a few times though the video. They mounted camera's all over it when I went thru Deals Gap. The drone raises up from my Slingshot in the parking lot scene. And when you watch it you will see me coming down the road by myself away from the pack and the next shot is a view into my cockpit. My wife was hanging on for dear life... ;)

Here is a link to the video.

Thanks for that! :2thumbs:

Have you taken your Sling"SHOT!!!" to a quarter-mile track yet? I wonder what it'd turn...

...If you could get the rear tire to hook up!

How do you like Toasted Kendas for breakfast??

I haven't carried it to the strip yet. I don't think it will do very well. It likes to spin when you get on it in the first three gears..... I love to get in it when I'm rolling in 3rd gear. It is the perfect speed. Its pretty quick when you are at the perfect speed. I guess all vehicles and bikes have their sweet spot.....

I pulled the Kendas off right after I got it. They were just way to hard of a tire. The back tire had actually started to chip away in places. Im running Nitto 555 Xtreme tires now. They are much better and they stick like glue.

Here are a few of my videos. The first one is a video of the speed from 25 to 110 . The last two were taken under the hood so you can hear the turbo spool up and the blow off valve noises. I get bored easily..... And I love to hear a turbo. It never gets old. Im still a child at heart.....

I never could leave my spyder alone so the Slingshot isn't any different....

Here are a few more pics of the inside of the cab. I run JL Audio and Kenwood stereo components. I have two 10" subs behind the seats with a 300Watt mono JL Amp pushing them. And I have JL C2 5.25", 4", and 1" components up front. I drive them with a 400Watt 4 Channel JL Amp. And I run a flip up head unit so I can see it better in the sunlight.

I also paint the whole thing myself and uses a PPG IBIS bright white base coat then a light coat of white pearl. Then I used a PPG Flex and Flat top coat so that it would have a matte finish and look kinda like it was a sticker...

I added QA1 Coil over Shocks all the way around to give it a better ride. They originally did what CanAm did and put non adjustable shocks on it. Not sure why companies still don't offer a little bit of adjustably....

I put 4-point harnesses in to hold my wife and I snug into the seat. And put plenty of led's and halos on it.

Thank y'all for not bashing me for posting my Slingshot pics over here... I just wanted to say hi and sell a few of the Spyder goodies I have. I cant stand seeing the spyder stuff just sitting and not being used.

Also , if anyone around my neck of the woods want to ride sometime please let me know. Nobody really lives around me so I don't get to ride much unless I go to the mountains.

One can only believe ,they shall solve the heat problem ,just like it was resolve on the spyder
Thinking of buying one of these toys myself

Great news..!!

Not the having to give up the two wheeler but that your alive and well. Slingshot looks great and glad your out there enjoying it...:yes::ohyea::ohyea:

Welcome back and :congrats: on the new SS. You have taken yours to a new level. :firstplace::firstplace:

There are many fans on board here. I am one of them.

That is pretty awesome. What all has been going on with the new Spyders. My Polaris dealer also has the new F3. He has been trying to get me to ride one. He is telling me they toned down the nanny and it will really get up and go.

I will have to take it for a ride soon so I can see what the difference is. I got my recall in the mail a while back on RT that I used to have. It looks like they had to address the heat finally.

Polaris is no better at customer relations. I love the Slingshot but they have a few problems that I'm sure will all work out but right now they seem to be slightly ignoring them. The heat is really bad. Imagine sitting behind the radiator on you car and having that air blow on you on a 100 degree day. Its very bad because their are holes all in the firewall where the pedals come thru and the radio area is located. And there is a HUGE stock muffler (pot bellied stove) right against the firewall in front of the passenger. I don't have it anymore because of the turbo but stock Slingshots do. And boy is it toasty.....

As far as the ride comfort goes it is very good in stock configuration. It handles like it is on rails. There is no darting at all. Polaris had a steering rack recall shortly after the first Slingshots were delivered. This caused a need for the Laser Alignment people to make a kit for it. So most have had theirs laser aligned. The good news is they are actually aligned when they originally leave the factory. So all the new Slingshots don't need it.

One last problem that has cropped up is a rear axle bearing popping ,crackling, and failing. It seems that some are having a needle bearing to start popping for no reason. What is weird is that Polaris has replaced a few but here lately it seems like Polaris is wanting more proof that it actually is bad when the dealers report it. And we know nothing makes a customer madder than to be told to "hold on and wait while we research this".

So not everything is perfect in Slingshot world . Its definitely not terrible but certain things need addressing by Polaris.. Mine has 8000 miles on it and 7000 of them are with the turbo. I have eliminated 80% of my heat issues and mine hasn't had the rear bearing give me any trouble. And I switched to QA1 coilovers shocks and I had mine laser aligned so it is dead perfect. And I am very happy with it. It will make you smile every time you mash the gas.....

Sorry to hear that it hasn't been all "Beer & Skittles" with the 'Shot. But you're right; they will work it all out.
Try out an F-3, and then let us know which one you order!! :D (They ARE that good! :2thumbs:)
