• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have you noticed...

the backs of your calves getting wet when riding in rain? Saturday we did a run and ran in to some showers. Nothing bad enough to put on the rain gear but enough to wet the roads. On the first stop I noticed I was fairly dry except for my jeans at the back of my calves. Figured it must be coming from the rear tire or kicked up from the splash guards in front of the pegs.

My first thought is that it's being kicked up from the front tires. I guess my floorboards on my RT protects my legs. That and the seating position with my legs not so far forward.

Depends..!

what spyder model and seating position. Mods/farkles will also impact where the water goes. On the RS (no floorboards) I get more on the shins. :dontknow:

If you have to ride in the rain; getting wet is part of the fun! :D
Why it was the back of your calves? :dontknow: It must have something to do with the airflow around the bike.

Have you tried sitting on the bike, and having your Bride give you a quick going-over with the garden hose?
(Strictly in the interest of science; of course! :D)

I took the splashguards of my F3s when I noticed a screw missing and liked the look. The rain seemed to get taken care of by the front fenders, and I was wearing rain pants, so didn't catch any calf splash.

That is interesting. I have not ridden in the rain yet on my F3 but will soon enough. I guess with the legs forward riding position your calves are closest to the wet road so it makes sense.

I've seen my splash guards channel a ton of water when I go through standing water. It is really impressive! (I ride in the rain even if it is really bad, though. YMMV.)

The rain was light enough that I didn't need the gear. I suspect it is the 'vacuum' created by the design and the deflectors. No riding this weekend though. Heavy rains and much cooler temps. That makes for a good time to put the wife's Impala outside and work on the Spyders in Bruiser's Garage. I have a 2014 sway bar from the wife's RTS that I'm going to install on my F3S. Going to adjust my front shocks a little too. I seem to be loose in/tight out on curves. We are going to be in the mountains (Little Switzerland, NC) next weekend. And I want to install some more LEDs on her RTS. Be a good weekend for that.
