• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have deleted my Facebook account

Hi! I just wanted to let my friends who were on Facebook know that I deleted my acccount today. I just did not trust all of the changes and the privacy issues. I am now on Google+, same name, Kris Kraft Brewer, if you want to converse there. Needless to say, I'll be on Spyderlovers a lot more now, too!!

Never been into Facebook or Twitter or any of that stuff.......the fewer the databases I'm on, the better I feel. I don't have to broadcast all my feeling to all and sundry. Privacy should be preserved IMHO.
I have my favorite places to be but, by far, I spend the most time here.

Ray, I agree with you. The main reason I got on Facebook was to keep in touch with family, who all live up north. It was great, but I just don't trust FB anymore. I'll be on here a lot more from now on.

Bruiser......where are you....I'm between K'ville and High Point on 66....hopefully our paths will cross.

I was taught from childhood you keep yersel' to yersel'. Folks have their own problems and they're nowt to do wi' you.
I have my own identity formed from my own experiences right or wrong.
I was born in '44 in Northern England (I still have the accent) and came over here in the seventies to a country filled with hope. Unfortunately, I see despair, sloth and frustration in far too many faces these days.

Maybe I'm just a bit too much of a nitwit, but I never understood the fascination that it holds for so many folks...:dontknow:

:agree:

I'm with Bob
And if you want to "talk" there's still the old fashioned email or even.......the phone!!!!!

I too don't understand why this generation has to publicise every thought that goes through their head!!?? :dontknow:

Funny thing is it usually comes back to bite them later. :opps:
Don't know bout you all, but I learn from my mistakes....of course that doesn't mean I won't make them again :roflblack:

cheers all
Pete

Phones??? :roflblack: I was teaching Sportsman Education courses this weekend and actually had a 15 year-old girl tell the story of how she missed a shot at a buck because she was TEXTING to her friends about it being right in front of her... :banghead: :gaah:

I find Facebook really handy for keeping in touch with our children and other family members. The family is pretty much spread out coast to coast and a simple posting in words or pictures gets to the entire family at once.

What I really don't care for are the "I think I'll do my laundry tonight" type of posts. Really, who cares? :roflblack:

I know that I'm not the best typist on the Planet... Most of the time it's 2 keys forward and 1 key back... :gaah:
I keep in touch my family too... by phone or by visiting... But then; we're fortunate enough to not be spread out all over the Continent.
:opps:

Goldsboro, 2 hours east of K'ville. We were stationed in England (70 miles northeast of London) from '80 to '83. Loved it! Very nice people.

Bruiser,
Spent the majority of my life in Bedford and I used to play in the local US bases at Lakenheath, Upper Heyford and Chicksands and a few others in Europe but that was before your time over there....haven't been back in near forty years.
Looks as if it's getting clearer so I'm away to install some new lighting in the Spyderhaus.

Yep, i was stationed at RAF Lakenheath and the wife worked at RAF Mildenhall. Lived in Brandon up until a year before we left. Moved into Anglo housing then, only because of the convenience. Loved it there. Hope we can meet up soon.
