• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone used vinyl pinstriping?

Hello,
After 30 years of riding Bmw's, I fell in love with a 2015 rtl. I like to put some tasteful pinstriping. Does anyone know where to find them?
Thanks, Rob

Do some asking around at meetups. There are a lot of pinstripers in WA. Some show up at the Hells Canyon and Pendleton rallies.
Oops, you did say vinyl....my mistake.

Places that sell auto paint sometime have them. Also PEP Boys used to carry some, don't know if the still do haven't been in one for awhile.

Every stickershop, can cut thin lines of vinyl, it's just your creativity, what makes the job, I customize alot of vehicles with vynil, sticker adhevise materials, and you'll learn by trail and errror, don't get frustrated if the first time fails,
just try again, and again, till you are satisfied, but be carefull, it's addictive.... :2thumbs:

Any good auto body supply place will have good tape. I’ve used a different widths to accent many things from my English bikes to Harley‘s works very well. Also they always withstand a car wash wand.

I have always toyed with the idea of having mine striped, it's such a blank canvas being white, but I would have some one paint them on, just my thing, I like the looks of it and for the most part it won't peel off! I knew a guy years ago that had a commercial sign shop, he did lettering and pin striping, I was dating his daughter, I could sit there on a bucket and watch him do a work van, or truck, he made it look so easy, he would look at me and say you want to try it,:roflblack: the only times I would try it was when he would tape it out and give me some thing to work agents!!

I have a local "wrap" shop working up some designs for mine.

I wants something that is uniquely MINE, yet doesn't look like I am trying too hard.

I have an appointment next week to see what he has come up with.

I want to make my pearl white RT-L to look like a zebra or even a cow with black vinyl cutouts. I think that would be easy because you don't have to cut perfect lines. What do you guys think?

Cheers!

A Cow with Guns?? :dontknow:

It'd certainly be distinctive - not necessarily distinguished, but definitely distinctive!

To each his own - me, I've ridden cows.... & pigs.... and some right pigs of cows &/or motorbikes :p So I don't really feel the need to make my Spyder look like a cow or a zebra - but it's your Spyder, so if you like the idea, go for it! :ohyea:

Are you asking where to find vinyl pinstriping vs vinyl decals or vinyl wrap?

I've seen quite a few sources on line, including Amazon, of vinyl pinstripe-looking designs.

For true pinstriping, you can buy pinstriping kits and create your own designs. Once again, plenty of sources if you Google it using clear search words.
