Not personally familiar with this tire. But I did find this article. The information on this tire seems to be that it is quite good in dry, a bit suspect in wet. But it appears to be a decent tire. Still, you are not restricted to a 225/50R15 OEM size. A 215/60R15 or even 205/65R15 will also work well on the rear of a Spyder.
The one thing I will say is that a Summer Performance tire, in general, will not perform well below 50 degrees F (or 10 C).
