• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone tried Reverse Brake Bleeding on their Spyder? Was it effective?

Has anyone tried reverse brake bleeding on a Spyder? If so, was it effective? If not, does anyone see any reason why it might be a bad idea? Seems like a pretty logical and quick method on a 2 wheeler.

As in forcing the fluid backwards into the reservoir, never heard of it?
If that's what you're meaning I can see only disadvantages main one being you then have to suck the fluid/crud out of the reservoir with more chance of spiling it on the paint.
 
We need to distinguish between flushing (pushing new fluid through the system to force the old cruddy fluid out) and bleeding (getting all the air out of the system). If you do the former correctly you may not have to do the latter.

To do flushing I like to replace the bleed nipples with Speed Bleeders. Or use the OEM nipples but start with some brake fluid in the drain container and keep the end of the drain tube submerged in that so it can't suck air back in.

If you do get air in the system, pushing fresh fluid back up from the bottom can be an effective way to remove it. But do that only after you've flushed out all the old fluid.
 
The only time reverse bleeding (yes not flushing) helps out is when the master cylinder is both lower than the brake line and the reservoir (fed by a hose). There you really need to force fluid backwards to get the air out.
