has anyone put a higher seat on

Just wondering if anyone has changed their seat to gain height seems like maybe a good idea but I am not sure

Seat cushion

I found I could not lower my foot pegs without some major work. I decided to raise my seat by building a 3in. thick cushion out of some firm foam coverd with denim and attached with four elastic bands. I find this very comfortable and does relieve some of the stress on my knees. The down side is you will need handlebar risers to compensate for the raised seat.
