• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone purchased a 2024 F3S? Do they still come with the rear cowl?

Does the 2024 F3-S still come with the rear cowl that can be installed in place of the rear seat?

Based on what I see below: No.

When the 2023 listing was active on the web site, it was very clearly listed. Not anymore. Ask your dealer, but I would say most likely that is an expensive option, looks like it's about $450 to buy - assuming the 2023 version will work. It was another reason I went with my 23 model over waiting for a 24. The price hike vs. new features vs what was removed did not ad up in my case.

I have a 2024, and I asked my Dealership the same thing, since I saw it on the 2023. They told me, NO!

I ended up buying a 2024. They no longer come with the rear cowl.

This is really too bad they stopped offering this as standard on the F3-S. I suppose they thought it out pretty well as they also went backwards in color options for 2024 (IMO) with only black as the main panel color. This way they only need to offer the black rear cowl.

I think the color matched cowls of the 2023 and older really balance the overall lines and breaks up the mostly black back end on the Spyder.

I got a black seat cowl on Amazon about five years ago for $250. They are still available, but now $400. I painted mine to match and found a set of passenger peg eliminator covers on ebay recently for $20. So, you can DIY a cowl but it looks like it will cost about $500.

Agree that the F3-S looks MUCH better with the rear cowl. Yellow stitching on my stock rear (and front) seat helps some, but not enough to break up all the black on the rear half. Only used my rear seat once - as a place to carry my duffel bag on a week-long trip. But just today I made a rack to hold my duffel above the rear cowl. Racks can be removed in about 2 minutes by removing 4 bolts, and still retain the classic good looks with the color-coordinated rear cowl.

I'm a bit envious of the yellow spider you have. lol It would have been my color of choice had it been an option for 2023 (or 2024) when I bought mine. Manta Green is also very cool and I loved it from the beginning, but given the choice......:doorag: I'm also super interested in the rack you made. I've been searching the forum and on line for options to add more cargo capacity.

Back on topic....

A few observations on the current cowl kit found here:
https://can-am-shop.brp.com/on-road/us/en/219401228-mono-seat-cowl-can-am-spyder-f3.html

  • The price appears to be only $250 and not the $400 plus - unless there are alternate versions - see points below.
  • It does not seem to come with a lock. Cowls from the factory have a small trunk that can be locked.
  • The install manual is bad (typical Can-Am)
  • The Cowl does not include the rear peg filler panels and hardware that came with the OEM cowls.

So assuming that a lock, rear storage or peg panels are not an issue, the OEM part above would be a good NEW OEM option.

Sorry, @broderp, just saw this reply of yours. You bring up something I did not know - about the rear peg fillers. I bought my ‘17 Daytona “new”, never titled, w/ less than 80 miles showing, in May of 2022. It had the factory pillion seat on it at the time. I asked the salesman about the cowl, and after some looking around, he came up with it. I was shocked! This bike sat at a dealer in Nevada, was turned back to BRP, then picked up by my selling dealer in Michigan. Couldn’t believe the cowl managed to stay with it, in original box and undamaged, through all that transferring. But I never knew about the peg covers …. Probably wouldn’t have used them, anyway. I rest my feet on the rear pegs quite often while riding straight stretches of road with the cruise control on - to keep my legs and butt happy!
