• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone heard any rumors about a new 1600 engine for 2027 Spyders?

Anything like a 1600 cc would have to be a major redesign. Although the belts have improved a lot since they first came out, a belt probably would not handle that kind of power. It would require complete rear end redesign to use a shaft drive. It might even come out with dual rear drive wheels, close set. Nothing the Can Am engineering department does surprises me anymore. More than likely it is just a rumor, and I would not buy the first couple years of any major redesign anyway. Might consider 3rd year after release if they got most of the bugs out. There might be a market for something like that, but not as all out power, more likely it would be geared for towing to handle heavier trailers.

Horsepower is how fast you going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you push the wall after you hit it.

They still can't get Apple CarPlay to work correctly, I wouldn't want to be one of the first buyers...
:::sigh:::

Since installing the BRP Connect 4.1 software update to my Spyder in July 2025, Apple CarPlay has worked very well for me, other than a few hours when I was in a narrow valley in North Carolina where there was no cell phone service.

My equipment:

2024 CAN-AM Spyder RT Sea2Sky
Apple iPhone 16e
Sena 3S Plus bluetooth 5.1 headset

Rumors are just that - Rumors.
But Wow, that might be something.

I will just stay calm and see what happens.
Have yourself a great Day 👍

That wouldn't make any sense.
The Rotax ACE 1330 is smooth, reliable and efficient.
They could add another 50hp to that motor's output without any real downside, so no need for a new motor.

Can you imagine the unbelievable price increase with the addition of a SHAFT DRIVE to handle the power of a higher powered engine along with a more beafy tranny and no telling what else in addition that would be required.
