• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Talullah

When my wife saw our Spyder for the first time, she said from the front it looks like a bobsled. That started the wheels turning and we thought of Cool Runnings and one of our favorite scenes, where the team tries to think of a name for their new sled. So, we named her Talullah

Too bad she's not black, but it works nonetheless.:D

Ya man!...
We must ride...

Spyders Name:

I call mine BLEVE, Which stands for Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion. I love explosions and fire and such. Besides....its Black and Orange.

spyder name

Does your Spyder have a name? If so what is it and why?

I call my Spyder Billie, because when I first saw her I thought of a bullet, which lead me to The Legend Billie Jean (I am showing my age, I know).

OK so my embarrassing truth is out there, what is your story/name?

spyder name is the "green bastard from parts unknown"

I have a friend he calls it the green hornet, another calls it the green lantern one of them rides a harley. I have had no one make fun of it most love it.

its not a motorcycle!

in my PGR group our lead ride captain always says that's not a motorcycle and not a trike the trike has 2 rear wheels.

its its own classification

i say yep its FUN

then i also get the training wheel thing
but one of the 2 wheelers drops their beloved hardley davidsons i step off mine and say opps mine didn't fall over lol

The name I dislike the most is "Scooter"

However

The one we seem to hear the most is Wow!...looks like a "Transformer"

training wheels

when the hardley davidson riders call it a trycycle or training wheels ask them to keep up as you run the highway way above their speed range and be relaxing on your spyder as they catch up down the highway

was running with a Honda goldwing and a hardley a couple weeks ago the Honda and i were clearing the carbon out a few times and had to pull off in a rest stop for a refreshing beverage while the hardley caught up it was funny

Mostly motorcycle with training wheels

I have gotten the training wheels comment before, and it seems to stop after they discuss it with me further, and in some cases-those I trust and have motorcycles of their own have ridden it.

I feel much more secure on the spider for many reasons, and they can call it anything they want.

I also get some calling it "gas guzzler" difficult to argue for "motorcycle like device," however I am quick to point out, that I had owned a 150cc scooter when I wanted economy. This I bought for fun!!

I had to grit my teeth today when a lady said "Is that your buggy" I said Yes but It's a Spyder.

I had a nice little old lady come up to me the other day and said that is cool what is it? Before I had a chance to say anything she saw the BRP insignia on the back and asked is it a burp? I was laughing so hard I couldn't correct her.

Ive gotten cute, cool, transformer, space ship, UFO (thanks to my lights), and a motorcycle with training wheels. The last pissed me off, but i was too busy consoling my wife about something else to correct them, so I had to just let it go. Priorities you know. Hope my show of willpower was appreciated. I do like what I read in a review somewhere... "a motorcycle for people who don't want to die."
