• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

what name has folks called your Spyder?

I had to grit my teeth today when a lady said "Is that your buggy" I said Yes but It's a Spyder.

"Buggy" is fairly mild...and probably a compliment in that person's mind. I have heard "thing", "contraption", "snowmobile", "Transformer", and "hotrod". I don't care what they call it, I just smile.

Tricycle

An older lady the other day said "I like you tricycle, it's neat". Due to my upbringing, I smiled and replied "thank you". Inside I was crying/mad/befuddled all at the same time.:(:sour::mad::banghead::trike:

Yeah, I have heard TriCycle too. That is the worst one to me. Buggy is mild compared to that!

I was at the post office yesterday. I was the only one in there, and the door opens.
In walks a frail little lady, I'd guess about 80-85. She looks around and makes eye contact with me.

She walks over and asks, "Is that your Motorcycle outside?"

I smile and say, "Yes Ma'am it is."

She smiles a really big toothy smile and pats me on the shoulder and says, "THAT is really cool."
:doorag::clap::doorag:

Now, that lady made my day, and so a "trycycle, or buggy" now and then is just is simply "water off a ducks back" to me!

Ya'll got it nice-everybody at work calls it my "scooter". :yikes: :banghead: :barf: ....talk about holding your tongue :cus: .... truth be told......i usually don't......... nojoke

l I have had several people call it a transformer, I just tell everyone it is my convertible. But no matter where I go someone always ask what it is and most of the time at stop lights. And i get a lot of thumbs up from all ages. LIFE IS GOOD.

I just tell them the skis are in the garage ... and I'm waiting on the snow. Since this is TX, while they think about that, I leave!!

Name Calling

I've heard......"What is that....that...THING you are riding?" I tell them its a convertible smart car.:roflblack:

We once had a small boy ask us if it was a Transformer.
"Why yes; yes it is! It transformed all of my extra cash into great times!"
His Mom just smiled...

I mot often hear "Scooter". Haven't figured that one out but........:hun: Some of my two wheeled friends talk about my "Training Wheels". I just remember what my Daddy always told me. "Just consider the source son and walk away with a smile.":lecturef_smilie: Works for me almost as well as my Spyder does!!! He was a wise ol' guy.

Sexy

In a donut shop last summer and came out to observe a distinguished looking elderly lady, dressed to the nines in a smart summer sun dress, walking around the RT with her hands poised on her hips. As I approached she smiles and asks me if this is my bike. I replied yes and she turns back to look at the RT and said that it was the "sexiest" thing she had seen in a long time.

I walked over. looked at her and then at the trike, and informed her that since I had just finished waxing the Spyder all she was seeing was a direct reflection of herself in the plastic. The first time I had actually observed someone titter. Definitely a priceless moment for me. Sure beats the standard snowmobile on wheels that I often get!;)
