I named my 2016 Spyder RT-L FANG. Because I bought used and the previous owner had installed 2 fang looking decals on the front.

Our first Spyder was/is a 2013 RT Limited. They had a very bad rep and continue to. Not deserved in my opinion. Love it still. We never had issues. 400 miles when bought and over 20,000 on it now. A couple years ago I finally named "it". It is now known as "Evil '13". Had it painted on it as well. Evil '13 ended up in the shop this past July. While waiting we found a 2021 F3 Limited Liquid Titanium or GOLD color. We were going to look at upgrading next year but found this one with only 5000 miles. I immediately named it "Nugget". Sadly, Evil '13 is awaiting a front pulley bolt due to a shortage caused by the massive recall on newer Spyders. It will be for sale whenever it gets repaired.

I'm struggling to come up with a name for my 2023 Manta Green F3-S. Names for families vehicles historically just come out without much thought and they stick. Some examples:

My all red F150 Truck ~ "Clifford" (As in the Big Red Puppy")
My Yellow Celica is "Waldo" ~ It just came out one day and stuck
My Hyundai is ~"PB"; because my kids thought it was a "Poopy Brown" color; and the name stuck.

No name has come out for any of the Can-Am's of even my Kawasaki that I love to death. This perplexes me. :dontknow:

Keep thinking about it. The "right" name will eventually come to you. Been there and done that seven times since 2008.

BTW @Gwolf, you forgot one very important horse name - Dewey Bunnell wrote about it, and the band America recorded a song about it in 1971; released the song on the Warner Bros label in Europe & IIRC, Oz too, back in late 1971; while you lot in North America didn't get the song until early 1972. The song very quickly went Gold and topped the charts in a number of places, and it still remains one of America's most popular Hits!

Borys. I was and still am, a big fan of the "Who" rock group. On one of their earliest LPs, there was a track called "Boris the Spider" which I liked for some reason. So when I got my first Spyder in 2016, the name stuck.

When we bought the Champagne one in fall on 2020 we named it 'The Hook' because when you parked it people came up to you and wanted to talk to you about it. I had lost my wife of 40 years in the summer of 2021. She had gotten to ride with me until ALS made her to weak to be on the Spyder.

In January 2024 I bought a second Asphalt Grey 2018. A lady friend that was now riding with me said the Champagne was more girly than the more muscular looking Asphalt Grey one.

So Champagne one became 'Hooker' and Asphalt Grey became 'Hookie".

Boy this is an old thread. Nice to see it come back. I looked at some of the old posts and remembered some past friends that are no longer on here for whatever reason. Remember Mr. White, Prairie Spyder ,Chupaca, Cruiser Joe and a whole bunch of others. I did find my post #768 where I announced that my Spyder said her name was Charolette. Since I had the dragon painted on her nose, she became "Happy Dragon". As she ages (13 years old now) her name is becoming money pit, but mostly I just call her "the Spyder".

Four years ago I did a nut and bolt restoration of a 370 Bultaco Frontera. It was quite, well... 'challenging' at times, so when complete, I christened it with it's own special name and had some stickers made up.

Every new bike since (including my Spyder) has worn one of those stickers... so yeah, my Spyder has a name;
