• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone else with a 14' noticed

a black dust residue present during a cleaning? Each time I have cleaned our new 14' I have noticed a black dust like residue present. Rode almost 400 miles on Saturday and while cleaning yesterday noticed it much more than usual. It was everywhere on the body and one wipe of the seat and the rag was just pitch black. My wife is slightly unhappy because she thinks she sees it present on her grey and white riding jacket, and now I think she is right. Does not seem to be road grime as I never noticed such a dark color present while cleaning our 13'. I am thinking brake dust or belt dust, but before I make further assumptions I thought I would ask if any other 14' owners have noticed it. A quick visual appears the belt is tracking normally and the brakes do not pull and the bike otherwise performs fine. As I mentioned, this was not noticed on our 13'. Thanks.

I just bought my white/black '14 RSS a couple weeks ago and I just noticed the same thing before washing it. I only ride it on paved roads, but I was thinking I just picked up some dust along the way. It was pretty noticeable and if I rubbed my finger across the plastic panels my fingers would be very dirty. I'll have to pay more attention to it from here on out.

Check where your drive belt is riding on the pulleys... I get a fair amount of belt dust on the rear wheel... :sour:

I've noticed it on our white '14, especially on the front fenders. I've just assumed that it is brake pad dust, since I've had the same thing on my car rims for years.

BLACK DUST

It's brake dust..................it should lessen over time , however BAJARON should have a cure for this now or very soon .......Mike

I have also noticed it on my yellow 2014. Been trying to keep mine clean using Armour All wipes for cleaning. They work pretty good, but the black dust is sure noticeable.

Brake dust makes sense, I wonder if they

changed the front pad material? I am hoping it will lessen over time as it is a nuisance for sure, it just seems unusual as we did not notice it on our 13' and our riding habits have not changed. Matter of fact, with the new powertrain, I find myself using the brakes far less as the engine does a nice job of braking when you let off....

Black dust..!!

Check part numbers on the pads. If it changed they may have changed material or supplier. Should clear up as the pads wear in. You will end up with some on rear wheel....
