• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Harley Trike to Spyder Need the facts :-)

I know when they add a dirtbike motor to an ATV it vibrates to the point they need counterbalancers. So, maybe the 3rd wheel adds to the vibration on the Spyder. Anyone notice a difference on the HD trike vs the bike?

If you and your wife are into all the rallies that riding a Harley has to offer that's the way to go. spyder events can be a little on the boring side.

Perfomance Spyder to Harley Trike can't be compared the Spyder handling is far superior then the Harley.

Just my two cents.

I have nothing to compare and I've never been to a Harley rally but I have been to almost every major Spyder event since they first came out, and they are NOT boring. I guess it all depends on your priorities and expectations.

:agree:

Besides--- Us SpyderLovers actually take showers! :D

I do not think the two are comparable. The Spyder has far more safety features than any other production trike on the planet.

Even if you ripped all of that out of the bike I still believe it to be a safer bike than the original trikes. I would much rather have two 7" width tires up front stopping and steering than one 4-6".

Power and performance is also not comparable. Two completely different schools of thought. One takes a kick-ass two wheeler with all kinds of medium RPM power and turns it into a trike, the other started from the ground up and went with an RPM happy engine with a proven track record.

My wife and I went over this for over a year between a Goldwing Trike, Harley Trike or the Spyder. When it was all said and done it came down to the safety of each bike. We had to remove the purchase price from the equation because the other two had been so much more expensive than the Spyder was. It was not fair.

In all reality. If the ryde fits the need, that is the one to get. Otherwise one will only look for faults instead of enjoying the ryde...:2thumbs::doorag:

Good luck with your choice. I am certain either way you will be a happy ryder and that is all that matters :spyder2::thumbup:

I went from a Softtail Deluxe to my Spyder due to surgery on my back. The Spyder has been great. Easy to handle, no issues. How fast.... well last summer on a trip to Cody, WY. I jumped out to pass traffic and hit 100mph very quickly. Bike felt like it was one with the road. Remember it can go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The sweet spot on my bike is about 82. If you make your decision soon SpyderFest 2011 will be held in Cuba, MO April 27 - May 1. This will be the largest Spyder gathering and event in the USA. Good luck and hope to see you on a Spyder soon.
