• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Harley Trike Gas mileage

One of the guys in our BK chapter has a brand new Harley Trike that he paid somewhere in the range of 43K for all bells and whistles. Claims that he is only getting 13 miles to a gallon after about 800 miles on it. Took back to dealership and showed them their own brochure that says it should get upwards of 30 mph to 40 mph. They looked bike over and did everthing they could to it. Says midrange 20's is about the best it will ever do......
He is thinking about trading for a new 2008 Motortrike due to the poor mileage of the Harley.
Anyone know someone with a new Harley Trike so that we could compare mileage with it?

The Spyder is not bad :chat:

Wow you guys get soaked up there with prices I was out the door for 30k Ultra 2010

As a Spyder lover and the owner of a 2010 HD Tri-Glide here my story.I wanted an RT after I wanted an RS but too many issues sent me to the HD Trike.I have reverse and some other option and am no where near $43K.With 2200 miles on it my milage is low thirties for sure.It is hot due to cat's in exhaust and no liquid cool.I can empty out a restaurant when I drive up.It just looks good.

Spyder RT is a better touring design but if it proves to have the same issues as the RS look out below.Tri-Glide seems to hold value with 50 yr old technology.Safe at moderate speed, looks good and does what it should. The Spyder seems to do all things better except keep running.I'm sure Bomb will get it right but not yet in my book. When they do and get the fuel milage where it belongs,so long Harley Davidson.

I was talking with my brother last night about a trip we are planning for May. He rides an '08 Goldwing with CSC trike kit & his wife has the new Harley Tri-Glide. I told him that while we have the same size fuel tanks, I'll have to make more frequent fuel stops than he or his wife, especially if I'm pulling a trailer (surely it'll be here by then!). He mentioned that they rode 600 miles last weekend & he got about 31 mph while his wife got 35 on her Tri-Glide. My wife's '08 GS got about 31 on our ride last weekend, so she could probably hang with them. I only got 23-25 on my recent Huntsville trip, so am not looking to get their range, especially if I'm pulling.
