There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Harley-Davidson Introduces Electric Motorcycle!

With the war on coal closing down a lot of capacity, it is going to take more than a gradual increase just to make up lost capacity - increased consumption WILL be a problem. nojoke

I do see some real potential for a "Silent" Harley...
The soundtrack that you put together for the ride... could be AMAZING!! :2thumbs:

They HAVE been rather quiet about this little exercise; haven't they?? :dontknow:

 Do you think:
They're just waiting for battery technology to improve?
The Government to offer some tax benefit that'll make bringing it to market worthwhile?
It was just a publicity stunt?
Or are they actively working on improving it; with an eye on how the market will react to it?

:agree: War on coal, no drilling allowed under this admin. If POTUS has his way we'd all get around on foot, bicycle or "sail car."

They did did a piece o the eHD on Foxnews this morning. Said its range is 53 miles

As things are now, in order for anything electric to be a "touring" vehicle, there would have to be standardized batteries so they could be swapped, instead of waiting for them to charge. Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Or, we could convert our roads into slot car tracks.:joke:

Over 850+ Harley dealers in the U.S.; if they put a fast charger and battery swap station at every dealer, you'd be pretty close to set for most of the country. Sign a deal with someone like Tesla, and you're in even better straights.

That said, HD does have to get far more range out of the production models-- at least 100 miles, 150 better, 200+ would be about perfect.

Even better (for Harley) is the option to charge normal prices for a fast charge, but premium prices for a battery swap. Charging a Zero, for instance, is only about $1.60 for 171 miles worth of travel. Charge $5 for a fast battery swap, and you're already making pure profit.

They should go for something like a hybrid. It gets great distance and plenty of get up and go. They could even use the small engine to tune their pipes to sound like a real HD.

:agree: That sounds like a pretty smart plan...

Our powergrid could never support a large increase in the use of electric vehicles; at least not without some VERY substantive improvements and additions to it.

 Sorry...
With the amount of power outages we have here in the Laurentians, I would never be driving. unless I got a generator just to charge my vehicle!nojoke
