• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Harley Davidson fined for emissions from after market devices

It's good to see the US Department of Justice concentrating their efforts on such important things. :sour: After all, that's what we pay 'em for.

I'm no fan of Harley Davidson, but this is a bit ridiculous. Going after a manufacturer for selling a tuner? :banghead:

It was also labeled and sold for off road competition use only. This suit and others similar to it have far reaching repercussions.

Its the same legal standing that allows the sale of the power commander for older Spyders and for aftermarket programming devices used on cars and trucks.

SEMA will get involved with the appeal on this one but its a bad day for the car and bike hobby. HD just took the brunt of the fine and were made an example by the over reaching EPA.

As I see it...

It's a knee jerk reaction to the fact that they got around the system and not the effect....there was none....:gaah:

Harley being the big fish is the first that EPA will go after. It will flow downstream. Sooner or later all of those selling cool aftermarket stuff will get wacked. That includes the people that make CAT delete pipes for Spyders. The fines will bankrupt the little guys. I'm from the Government and I'm here to help.............:banghead:

Now what happen to some of the owner who have deleted their cat?

Gov will go after the deepest pockets first and then work down to the little guys. Oh you deleted your GOV approved CAT, here's your fine. And you thought you could just buy a cool go fast bolt on pipe and it was all good, sucks to be you.

 Are they still around? There aren't any dealers near us, and I don't recall seeing any ads on TV... :dontknow:

Mitsubishi closed their assembly plant in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. I believe it was their only US plant. They got caught cheating on emissions tests on small engines in Japan earlier this year; basically the same situation as VW in the US.

Looks like all the noisy-ass Harley owners will just have to accept the fact that loud noise does not equal a fast bike - Harley's are dogs when you buy them and dirty dogs when you modify them.

No big loss for Harley since all there crap comes from China they never paid anything for the modify kits to begin with!

I saw the devastation in California when they turned off the water for irrigation after those counties voted for the other candidate, now the HD company is being targeted by the administration because Biker for Trump shut down BLM in Cleveland. Most of them were on HD's.

Anti-Tampering

The anti-tampering law has been in effect for over two decades and very little enforcement has happened up until now. Big Gov is going after the big fish first and will pursue the small fry later. It's just a matter of time. Most aftermarket products from noisy mufflers to high flow intakes, basically anything that enhances the engine performance is labeled with a disclaimer "for off-road and racing use only" and we all know that most of that stuff gets put on street vehicles. Pretending ignorance to those disclaimers won't buy your way out of a fine when that day comes around.

Big government out of control!!!!!! Revenge by a big government is worse yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just my opinion...:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:
