There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hard to see $245.00 worth of product here

I got my sway bar from Ken and I have to say just looking at what it took material wise and fabrication wise I find it hard to justify the $245.00 bill I got for it. For some reason I thought there was more to it. :dontknow:

I have heard good reports about it so I'll hold back judgment until I ride around with it for a few miles but right now I've got buyers remorse. :opps:

I also had this impression when I opened the box a few weeks ago, but then I thought about all the good things I heard about it. We will see in a couple of days!

Does look like a bit of a rip as most of the accessories are , but they know someone will buy them ,and as long as they work i guess its money well spent.:dontknow:
Hope you are feeling better Lamont. Take care.:2thumbs:

it would be well worth it if you get a free iphone with it...but i'm guessing not...:D:coffee:

Sway bar

I hear where your coming from. I was gonna get the sway bar but looking at it. I didn't think it was worth the money.

I doubt they're made in house, so there's that cost. Development, heat treatment, fabrication, rockwell testing, powdercoating, advertising, profit margin. I bet they cost more to produce than just the price of the metal involved.
I've gotten sticker shock on some LED lighting products, too!!:yikes::yikes:

Lot's of motorcycle accessories are overpriced for what they are. Wish they weren't. (But it hasn't worked so far):ani29:

Well I have one also. From what I can tell it has let me soften the front suspension some, from the full stiff position. I can tell a difference in the corners. Problem is, I stay in LHM and haven't given it the real test yet.

Hey...that's what I was thinking...maybe they will throw in Lamonster's iphone...then for 245.00, it'd be a great purchase...as it looks right now, I'd send it back...

I am looking forward to Lamonts evaluation of the sway bar - I have been cosidering getting one -- if it really makes a difference in twisty performance it will be worth the price - it's hard to imagine it would change the dynamics of the front end very much :dontknow:

It's interesting how subjective the riding experience is. I don't feel like there is a need for a sway bar and I'm not light on the twisty roads or on turns.

I know the center of gravity doesn't change with handlebar risers as the seat is in the same place, but I wonder if an upright position doesn't effectively change the feel of the ride...on twisty roads and sharp turns, I more-so drop down onto the bike, thus shifting my weight to the front of the bike and to either side...I feel completely stable when doing this and the bike completely hugs the road.

Is it possible that sitting upright due to high risers changes the feel and control of the bike?

Just curious...Scotty, anyone??

Because of the risers you may be applying your body weight further off center and getting more "body english" than with the stock set up were you tend to lean forward and closer to center:dontknow:

Makes sense to me....

Ata,

Do you have the risers? I'm wondering if the sway bar is more necessary when you pull the body more up and off the bike? I had some issues when I first got the bike but when I cranked up the front shocks, all the problems went away and the bike now holds to the road like glue, esp. with fast speed on highway ramps. I found that this change really affects the handling...to me, the bike feels plenty stable at any speed.

Yepper... the Kewl Metal set-up.

Be careful, bro. Pneumonia will fool you that way, and if you push too hard to quickly, you can have a horrid relapse. I had a doozy my last time around for just that reason. Pneumonia seems to be up and down a lot as you start to heal.

Okay, I apologize for going around in a circle here (seemingly), but do you think the sway bar is more needed for those with risers?

I can tell you by experience that believe it or not the Spyder handles better with risers than without I just put them on maybe put about 500 miles on them ihave 10000 miles on Spyder and the handling is awesome now and I put this thing through some serious turns
