• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hard to close frunk

I am a newbie that is finding that I have to slam my frunk at least twice to get it to close. Sometimes it takes 3 slams. And when I say slam, I mean closing it fairly forcefully. It seemed to close with one when I first got it. Is there a latch adjustment or something for the frunk that makes it easier to close? I place my helmet in there anytime that I stop so I am using it quite a bit.

May also be a funky lock and switch. I am still in the process of dancing around with the dealer about getting mine fixed.

There are two bolts towards the bottom of the bike-side part of the latching mechanism as shown in the attached pic. Loosen these two bolts and adjust to your liking. It may be trial and error until you get it right. You're gonna have to remove the two triangular pieces (like the one that covers the antifreeze overflow tank) to gain access. This is on a 2014 RT...YMMV

Ed is right. I have a 2010 rt and had problems with the frunk. I called the dealer service dept, They weren't sure how to adjust, but it is the two bolts in the front.
Good luck.

Steps..!!

start with lube..check the seal..loosen the bolts just a bit so when you close the frunk it can center itself...can be a bit of a oain to get it re-adjusted...

After my dealer put the third lid on the frunk of my 2010 RT, I learned on Spyderlovers how to adjust the latch with the two bolts on same. The dealer told me there was a problem with warped lids. It was the latch adjustment.

Ditto what akspyderman says

If you have a 2014 RT, then there is a known problem with some of the ignition switches which control the frunk lock. The frunk lock/unlock mechanism controlled by the ignition key won't latch the frunk lid, necessitating me to jiggle the key (without turning on the Spyder) to reset the latch.

Long story short, my RT ignition froze up and the frunk latch totally failed at the dealer while having tri axis bars installed and is currently being replaced under warranty.

Make sure rain seal is pushed down and seated, then put some lithium grease on the latches. I bet it will then work for you.

Last year my frunk stopped latching all together. I called my dealer, took it in, they adjusted the latch, and I've never had another problem with it.
