• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hard shifting

2010 RTSM5 when moving shifts like butter. When stopped won't shift into neutral, shift lever very hard to move and keeps jumping over neutral between 1st and 2nd. if i rev the engine it will shift into neutral with just a tap. Sitting still with clutch lever pulled it does not creep. oil at full mark on stick. Clutch Fluid full. Clutch fluid new and bled. New Clutch, piston, spring, and o-rings (about month old). Just started doing this last week. Any thoughts?

I had the same bike. It did the same thing when it was "cold". Once the oil was warmed up it shifted just fine between 1st/neutral/reverse. Do you have trouble even after the oil is warmed up? Is the oil/filter fresh? Last thing I wanna start is an oils thread, but some oils do help smooth out the shifting. You can read for hours about different oils on here.

My 08 does the same thing. I use the old double clutch method while up shifting and downshifting. Just makes it shift so much better.

Strange...

So if all is new and installed correctly this should not be happening. I had a leaking slave cylinder which caused this same problem because the fluid was leaking out and the piston was not fully operating. I drained the system changed the o rings filled and bled the system and all is well. I do have the clutch lever engaging at the outter point so when shifting I only have to tap it but when stopped or slow I will pull it all the way in and shifting is fine. I would re-check fluid level and vaccum assist system and then work backwards. If dealer did the work take it back ...:dontknow:
